The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. With renewed vigilance, the following prerequisites must be met to be considered as legal and lawful sale, possession, and operation of a gun within state jurisdictions:

Age-restricted requirements for new gun ownership:
-No one under the age of 25 may legally purchase firearms, without the written consent or consent by presence of a parent or guardian, and both must have proper identification. In order to legally operate or possess a firearm within the jurisdiction of the resident’s state, one must apply for a gun permit. Possession of a firearm without a gun permit or hunting license is prohibited, and subject to a fine of $10,000, or 5-10 years in prison.

The sale, trade, purchase, or use of any firearm can not be conducted with any individual under the age of 25, without a legal and valid state ID/EVERIFY system check conducted, nor without written parental/guardian consent or without presence of parent or guardian.

Such sale, trade, purchase or use is considered illegal, unlawful, and the seller or trader, purchaser or recipient, as well as the guardian are subject to a fine of $10,000, or 5-10 years in prison.

*No one over the age of 25 may sell, trade, purchase, or discharge a firearm without obtaining a state issued gun permit or hunting license, or be subject to a fine of $10,000, or 5-10 years in prison.
*Mandatory - new gun owners must secure newly purchased weapons 24-7 with RFID technology.
Violation of this requirement constitutes a felony, punishable by 5-10 years in prison.

Requirements for existing gun owners:
-Presence of anyone under the age of 25 at a residence requires restricted access to weapons in the home, all weapons must be secure in a safe or lock box that is not accessible, nor can be removed without great effort from residence.  
-Failure to secure weaponry or report lost or stolen weaponry promptly to law enforcement can result in a maximum of a $10,000 fine, or 5-10 years in prison.
-Weaponry is not to be used by anyone under the age of 25, without proper permit and registry obtained from the state.
*Optional - gun owners who choose to waive this requirement may do so, by securing their weapon 24-7 with RFID chip technology.
Violation of this requirement constitutes a felony, punishable by 5-10 years in prison.

Special provisions regarding mental health and existing state gun laws:
-All existing state laws and all federal laws, regarding mental health reporting requirements are to be followed and executed. Any treating psychologist, general practice doctor, or counseling center-type facility prescribing psychotropic medication, must send documentation of treatment to the state bureau.
-The state bureau will be responsible for keeping a file, accessible to federal entities, regarding the origination, status, and disposal of mental health or medical treatment files to permit or deny a state-issued gun permit.
-Anyone not adhering to existing laws, probation sentences and proper completion, or someone who is actively under treatment of psychotropic medication, the state reserves the right to deny a gun permit, and possesses state severed-liability.

Duty to report, state database and RFID security:
-As a citizen, you have a duty to report any illegal sale, use, possession, or practice of weaponry, including violation of any provision listed. Failure to report will result in being charged with party to a crime. Any improper or illegal sale, trade, or use of a weapon in commission of a crime must be reported, as any witness can be charged with party to a crime for failure to report such persons and weapons.
-To receive a new gun permit: one must sign, date, and waive that they are not currently under treatment with psychotropic medication.
-All straw purchase sales and weapons trade is banned to anyone who does not possess a valid state/EVERIFY ID. As a citizen, you must be accountable for lawful weapon use, sale, or trade or face the same penalties that apply to those who criminally acquire and abuse weapons.
-To prevent federal abuse of gun policies: all out of country weapons sales require RFID chip technology.
-All states must require a gun permit to sell, use, operate, and possess guns within their jurisdiction.
-Gun insurance is optional, not required, unless state law requires liability insurance.
-RFID chip technology meets secure weaponry standards of this Act.

  1. I was eating at the time, and I wanted to keep my food down.
  2. When I turned on the TV, Triumph of the Will was playing, and Obama was already finished before I realized I hadn’t been watching him all along.
  3. If I wanted to cry really hard, I’d hit myself on the toe with a hammer.
  4. If I wanted to laugh really hard, I’d watch that drunk animals video on YouTube again.
  5. Just because someone wrecked a car doesn’t mean he’s the most qualified person to assess its damages.
  6. My friends will tell me everything important from it. Which means they’ll never mention it.
  7. Because I’d rather just get this over with since I don’t have a choice. I don’t really care to hear the rapist monologuing beforehand.
  8. I left my doublespeak dictionary at work. It’s the Ambrose Bierce edition, of course.
  9. Because I already know what he said—“The state of the union is strong!”

Dr. Suzanna Hupp became a case study in gun control after testifying in front of Congress as a survivor of the 1991 “Luby” massacre in Texas where both of her parents were killed.  On Monday, more than a decade later, she spoke once more on the issue, examining it through the lens of the debate currently gripping the nation.
During her first appearance, Hupp explained how a friend had given her a gun when she was 21 and, though she doesn’t like guns or hunting, she agreed to get some training and carry it in her purse.
Not long after, a man crashed his car into a restaurant where she was eating with her family and started shooting people.
“It took me a good 45 seconds to realize that this man wasn’t there to commit a robbery,” she said. “He was there to simply shoot as many people as he possibly could.”
“When I finally realized what was occurring, I thought, ‘I got him,” she said, snapping her hand.  “And I reached for my purse.  He was maybe 12 feet away…But then I realized a couple of months earlier, I had made the stupidest decision of my life.  I took my gun out of my purse and left it in my car, because as you well know in the state of Texas, it’s sometimes a felony offense to carry a gun in your purse.”
She proceeded to describe how her father was shot trying to rush the man, and how she tried to escape with her mother.  When she turned around, she saw that her mother had run back to be with her father in his final moments, and was soon shot as well.

In the intervening years, Hupp has become a staunch advocate for concealed-carry, and was elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 1996.  After six terms, in 2006, she chose not to seek re-election.
She appeared on Monday, she said, not in any professional capacity, but simply as a citizen.
Hupp began by noting how uncomfortable she felt when victims of gun violence were asked to stand at the beginning of the hearing.
“Honestly, I don’t view myself as a victim of gun violence,” she said simply.  “I view myself as a victim of a maniac who happened to use a gun as a tool, and I view myself as a victim of the legislators at the time who left me defenseless.”
She re-told the gripping story with new details, before explaining one of the reasons why help was so slow in coming:
“The police officers, several of them, were patients of mine.  Several days later, they filled in the gaps.  They said they were actually one building away at a conference, and in an odd twist of gun control fate, the hotel where they were having their conference, the manager there didn’t want them to be wearing their guns and potentially offending any of her clients or customers…So precious minutes were lost as they retrieved their guns from their locked cars.
“They said that when they got over there…they didn’t know who the gunman was.  There were bodies everywhere.  But they [saw] a woman out in the aisle on her knees, cradling a mortally wounded man.  They said they watched as some thirty-something-year-old man walked up to her.  They said she looked up at him, he put a gun to her head, she looked down at her husband, and he pulled the trigger.  That’s how they knew who the gunman was.
“They said all they had to do was fire a shot into the ​ceiling​, and the man immediately rabbited into a back bathroom alcove area…
“23 people were killed that day, including my parents.”  [Emphasis added]
Hupp once again compared the killer to a “rabid dog,” which she said you take behind a barn and kill, but certainly don’t hold wholly accountable for its condition.
“But I’ve got to tell you, I was mad as heck at my legislators, because I honestly believe they legislated me out of the right to protect myself and my family,” she concluded.  “And I would much rather be sitting in jail right now with a felony offense on my head, and have my parents alive to know their grandchildren.”

PAGE 1, the goal to achieve a 15 percent reduction in the rate of drug use and similar
reductions in drug use consequences over the course of five years, can be met but not with conventional medicine: as pharmaceuticals and counseling have limitations in success rates and side effects.  Obamacare remains repealed by the House, so due to judicial activism and federal money being expended to promote corruption at local levels, the Judiciary will be restricted $200 billion for courts/and prison programs.

In accordance to Entitlement Reform, the court will take these things into consideration, regarding inflation, foreclosures, private debts, and banks: meaning that courts are only bound by law to imprison a person charged with a violent crime, they may hold that person without bond for up to a year to prepare for trial, and they must cooperate with the I.R.S. in providing timely reports. Courts may no longer impose a mandatory minimum sentence for drug possession charges or rely on bonds to fund the local courts from drug charges, so except for drug trafficking or gang activity, for a maximum period of 7 years.

House advances federal pay freeze, vote set for Friday

The House on Thursday advanced legislation that seeks to override President Obama's executive order calling for a 0.5 percent pay hike next month.

Members voted 227-192 in favor of the rule for the bill, which will allow the House to debate and vote on the bill, H.R. 273, on Friday.
Approval of the rule followed a highly predictable floor debate in which Republicans said the government can't afford the pay hike, which will cost $11 billion over the next decade. Democrats countered that the bill is an attempt by Republicans to continue picking on federal workers who have had their pay frozen for the last two years.


"The Republicans have decided that they want to continue in the same short-sighted and counterproductive campaign against federal employees that we saw in the last Congress," Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.) said.

Rep. Rob Woodall (R-Ga.), who managed the rule on the floor for Republicans, said the issue is the need to control the deficit, not the performance of federal workers.

"You will not find one finding of contempt for federal employees," he said. "In fact, if you listened to the hearing in the Rules Committee last night, what you saw was universal praise for the hard work that our men and women in the civil service are doing for this country."

Woodall also criticized Democrats for claiming to want to support middle-class families that work for the federal government after they have supported the policies of President Obama, which added tens of thousands in public debt that these same families will ultimately have to pay off.

Democrats complained throughout the debate that the bill should be split in two, because it would freeze the pay of both federal workers and members of Congress. Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) accused Republicans of combining the two because of the difficulty some might have voting against a bill that limits congressional pay.

"This rule and this bill suffer from the stench of politicization, and the House should divide these two issues," Polis said.

As they have all week, Democrats also complained that Republicans should be working on a bill to avoid the sequester. But that debate fell on deaf ears, as Republicans have said they will not take up any bill unless and until the Senate passes one.

Before the vote on the rule, members debated whether to take up the rule at all, after Polis raised a point of order against doing so. But Polis acknowledged that his point of order was mostly meant as a way to object to the way the bill is bring brought to the floor: without committee consideration.

Members agreed by voice vote to take up the resolution, and Democrats did not call for a roll-call vote.

In addition to the pay freeze bill, the rule also allows the House to consider a resolution on Friday that condemns North Korea's recent nuclear testing.

With the prior Impeachment Order functioning as a six month restraining order, with an injunction sought in May, and the restriction of veto power and authority in July, midnight tonight marks 90 days since Obama has continued to advance his interests through Senate Democrats, the long arm of Joe Biden, or manipulate previously passed legislation and budgetary matters to his liking through exacting executive orders on previously passed legislation, violating the original Impeachment Order provisions in place since January.  

The primary purpose for filing the Impeachment Order was lack of provable citizenship, though it became very clear that other matters of integrity of Office emerged:

Particularly when it came to foreign policy, at issue then being the handling of Libya as referenced by H CON RES 107, the House found that Obama had indeed committed an impeachable offense in violating the Constitution, which further strained our newly forged alliance with Afghanistan.

For this reason, it was absolutely imperative that Obama be restrained from abusing his power. Obama, however, continued to manipulate budgetary matters through the State Department, to serve his own special interests in Libya, and in doing so, damaged Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s abilities to bring Libya fully into a cooperative partner with the United States.

Not only this, but Obama abused his authority and position with Ambassador Chris Stevens; wherein this Embassy was used as a transfer location for Syrian Arms funded unknowingly and not approved by taxpayers, without even the knowledge and approval of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Abuse of foreign aid appropriations and appropriations for security were compromised to sustain these goals of armament, outside the knowledge and approval of Congress. While Libya requested more security 13 times, only a month prior to the 9/11/12 attack were we warned by watchful countries that the United States was arming Syria in some fashion.

Presuming that this was CIA activity, which we are neither privy to or their accounting detailed to us unless they choose, the search for where this was taking place began being investigated. Planes were checked in Iraq, but apparently those involved were the only ones who knew the Libyan Safe House was being used as a stash house for weapons. Thirty days after the fact, this criminal activity was confirmed by Syrians saying that they had not received weapons 30 days later, and that they were buying weapons from Al Qaeda.

On 9/9/12, active intelligence indicated an assassination plot on Assad, and at that time, we undoubtedly witnessed the Syrian Revolution being hijacked by Al Qaeda’s profession to have aspirations to take Syria for itself. With the impending memorial recognition on 9/11/12, we were well aware that something could take place, though we were unsure where and exactly what and who it would involve. With Obama’s abuse of power, flagrant violation of proper authority that had been restricted already, and unlawful means of armament not designated even by Congress, Obama engaged in doing these prohibited acts. Obama’s best friend was killed trying to protect Obama’s reputation, and we lost nearly 10 lives in 30 days as a result of compromised integrity and negligence of duty.

Yet the manner in which this occurred, unbeknownst to Congress, is a disgusting display of breaching the trust of the American people: the Joint Continuing Resolution agreed to by the House and Senate was over-scored $400 billion more than the annual $2.5 trillion projected revenue, as no agreement had been made for the expiration of Bush Tax Cuts, that would have projected revenue of $3.5 trillion. Senator Inouye was contacted in regards to the overscoring, for which approval was given, based on rectifying cuts and Congress’ salary issues.

Only after the measure was approved, were taxpayers told that this $400 billion was actually Obamacare remuneration, appropriated for preventive services, and that this would be automatically cut monthly over the next six months, for whatever amounts were not used for the term of the Joint Continuing Resolution.

This was only part of the story: in order to get the budget deal, security was cut in Libya to cover Congressional salaries and this budget deal, into the next fiscal year.

Therefore, Obama violated the Impeachment Order in place since 1-1-12, the Injunction filed 5-11-12, and went around the restriction of veto power and authority filed 7-23-12 that designated Vice President Biden with signature authority to declare war, along with the counsel and signatory power of Senator John McCain and Senator John Kerry respectively.

As of 10-21-12, Obama is to cease and desist all forms of military related command and budgetary matters, until the conclusion of the investigation by Darrell Issa or the election 11-6-12, whichever comes first.

During this time, if Obama makes any administrative decisions, he will be taken to court. At this time, Congress is considering a five year prison sentence for any criminal wrongdoing related to weaponry, and other charges as appropriate that are being investigated by the FBI.


May this stand as a valid declaration that Obama has been totally relieved of command, and Obama can not be reinstated by an election, without a court order that he has been found not to have been violating the integrity of Office.

Senate GOP blocks Hagel nomination in 58-40 vote

Senate Republicans in a 58-40 vote Thursday blocked former Sen. Chuck Hagel’s (R-Neb.) nomination as Defense secretary from proceeding to a final up-or-down vote.
Four Republicans — Sens. Susan Collins (Maine), Thad Cochran (Miss.), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Mike Johanns (Neb.) joined 55 Democrats and Independents in supporting the nomination. Sixty votes were needed to cut off debate. One senator voted present.
Republicans said it was too early to clear Hagel’s nomination, but that they would consider allowing an up-or-down vote after the Senate returns to business on Feb. 25.
They blamed Democrats for rushing the vote and the White House for not providing additional information about Hagel’s compensation for paid speeches.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) scolded Republicans for holding up Hagel, saying it was the first filibuster of a Defense nominee in history.
Hagel seems likely to be confirmed despite Thursday vote, but it highlighted the contentiousness of his nomination.
“I think it’s appropriate to wait until we come back,” said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). “I think there’s plenty of time to have any further questions answered and I intend to vote for cloture then… he’d certainly get mine and a number of others.”
Reid and the White House blasted Republicans for holding up the nomination, accusing them of playing politics at a time that a Defense secretary is sorely needed.
The current secretary, Leon Panetta, is headed back home for California on Thursday, though he will remain on as Defense secretary until a new one is in place.
“These delaying tactics are unconscionable, and they should end right away,” White House deputy press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters aboard Air Force One Thursday.
Democrats had hoped to finish Hagel’s confirmation this week after he cleared the Senate Armed Services Committee Tuesday. All Democrats voted for cloture, but they could not get five Republicans to join them to end debate.
Republicans have demanded more information about speeches the nominee gave and his compensation for them. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) at a hearing this week suggested the speeches were given to extreme or radical groups, a statement some Democrats have criticized.
Other Republicans, including McCain and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), had threatened to block Hagel because the White House wasn’t giving them the information they were looking for about the terrorist attack last year on a U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
Democrats had hoped that a White House letter sent to Graham, McCain and Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) on Wednesday might convince them to vote for cloture, but the senators stuck with their party and said they wanted to wait until after the recess.
“There’s a good many of us who believe tomorrow is ridiculous because he just came out of committee two days ago,” Graham told reporters. “But when we come back, I’d feel very comfortable, unless something really stunning comes out, to go to vote.”
Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) suggested that a cloture vote might not even be necessary after the recess, if no Republicans objected going straight to a final up-or-down confirmation vote.
He also felt that the White House would provide the “legitimate information” that GOP senators have been asking for.
“I think the legitimate information that’s been asked for will come,” Corker said. “Some people may have asked for things that are over the top — I don’t know that, by the way — but I think the legitimate requests will be answered.”
After a party lunch Thursday, GOP senators were nearly united in saying that the Senate was moving too quickly to confirm a controversial nominee.
“The bottom line is it’s premature for Sen. Reid to cut off debate today,” said Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.). “I have a little personal experience with this — I was nominated and it took 87 days between the time I was nominated and the time I was confirmed.”
Republicans have bristled at the notion they are filibustering Hagel’s nomination, and say he will almost surely be confirmed after the recess.
But Democrats say that Republicans are in fact taking the unprecedented step of filibustering a Defense secretary nominee.
“It is shocking that our Republicans colleagues would leave our nation without a secretary of Defense with all the things going on and when we’re in a war,” Reid said Thursday.
The White House had hoped Hagel would be in place after this week to attend a NATO meeting of defense ministers in Brussels next week. Now Panetta may take one more trip abroad before he retires back to California.
"We'll cross that bridge if we come to it," a senior defense official told The Hill.

The successful effort by Republicans to rally in opposition to the confirmation of Chuck Hagel, blocking the Senate from closing debate with a successful filibuster Thursday afternoon, represents a significant victory for conservative new media, which continued vetting the former Republican Senator long after the mainstream media had declared his success a virtual certainty despite a disastrous confirmation hearing on Jan. 31.

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who had previously opposed a filibuster against Hagel, indicated in Tuesday's meeting of the Senate Armed Services Committee that the emergence of two previously undisclosed speeches, both within the five-year timeframe of the committee's request to Hagel, were cause for concern. Breitbart News and Fox News reported on the existence of the two speeches, both from 2008, on Monday, Feb. 11. Questions arose not only about the substance of the speeches, but also the fact that Hagel had failed to report them.
On Thursday morning, the Washington Free Beacon reported a speech by Hagel in 2007 at which he allegedly claimed that Israel controlled the U.S. State Department: "The State Department has become adjunct to the Israeli Foreign Minister's office," Hagel reportedly said. Video of the speech has not yet been found, nor any transcript of questions and answers, but a published copy of Hagel's prepared remarks indicated that he had called for the opening of a new U.S. consulate in Tehran, despite Iran's continued defiance and belligerence.
After the cloture vote failed on Thursday afternoon, it was clear that continued concern about Hagel's public statements and disclosure thereof had been one of the main rallying points for Republicans who voted no.
As David Gregory of NBC reported:
Many pro-Israel organizations, fearful of defeat, kept their distance from the Hagel nomination fight. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) was particularly noteworthy for its silence. Other groups were more active: the Republican Jewish Committee rallied Republican Senators, and Christians United for Israel (CUFI) lobbied every single Senate office. Individual Senators, Ted Cruz (R-TX) in particular, stood out.
Throughout, conservative media played a key role in doing the research that the mainstream media would not, providing the basis for a full examination of Hagel's record and his beliefs. That effort continues--and will have several additional days in which to unfold.
Meanwhile, a White House whose nominee to lead the Pentagon has been critically damaged--by his own clumsy performance and non-disclosures--will have time to reassess.
There are other candidates for the post with past service during the Obama administration who would be confirmed easily by the Senate--most notably Michèle Flournoy, former Undersecretary of Defense for Policy.

An attempt by Senate Democrats to push through their controversial nominee for defense secretary, former Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., failed today on a 58-40 vote as Republicans said they haven’t been given answers to their questions.
Republicans have numerous reservations about Hagel.

Among his opponents are 14 retired U.S. admirals and generals, including high-profile names such as Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin and Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely. Hagel has endorsed subjecting the U.S. to the U.N.’s International Criminal Court, and he’s sat on the board of numerous globalist groups promoting U.S. funding for the Third World.
He recently was endorsed by Iran for the post, and another endorser was the Communist Party USA.
But an issue that has yet to be raised has been sitting in plain sight ever since Harper’s documented it in a report about the time of Obama’s re-election.
The report charged the GOP “aims to paint the country red” under the headline “How to Rig an Election.”
It was Harper’s that actually credited Hagel with symbolically inaugurating an era of questions about election fraud.
“Hagel, an unknown millionaire who ran for one of Nebraska’s U.S. Senate seats in 1996 … trailed the popular Democratic governor, Ben Nelson, who had been elected in a landslide two years earlier. Three days before the election, however, a poll conducted by the Omaha World-Herald showed a dead heat, with 47 percent of respondents favoring each candidate. David Moore, who was then managing editor of the Gallup Poll, told the paper, ‘We can’t predict the outcome,’” Harpers said.
“Hagel’s victory in the general election, invariably referred to as an ‘upset,’ handed the seat to the G.O.P. for the first time in 18 years. Hagel trounced Nelson by 15 points. Even for those who had factored in the governor’s deteriorating numbers and a last-minute barrage of negative ads, this divergence from pre-election polling was enough to raise eyebrows across the nation,” Harpers continued.
“Few Americans knew that until shortly before the election, Hagel had been chairman of the company whose computerized voting machines would soon count his own votes: Election Systems & Software (then called American Information Systems). Hagel stepped down from his post just two weeks before announcing his candidacy. Yet he retained millions of dollars in stock in the McCarthy Group, which owned ES&S. And Michael McCarthy, the parent company’s founder, was Hagel’s campaign treasurer,” the report said.
The report said: “Whether Hagel’s relationship to ES&S ensured his victory is open to speculation. But the surprising scale of his win awakened a new fear among voting-rights activists and raised a disturbing question: Who controls the new technology of Election Night?”
In the next election, a relatively unknown Democrat ran against Hagel, but he collected only 70,000 votes from the 400,000 registered Democrats. His demands for an investigation of the vote-counting were unsuccessful, the report said.

The analysis found that the fraud was enough to steal the election.
“Although no single instance or aspect of vote fraud was likely enough to tip the election for Obama, the aggregate of their corrupt activities – including illegal campaign donations, taking advantage of states without voter ID requirements, military ballots delivered too late, as well as the laundry list of elements identified in this report, may well have been.”
Further, the analysis found the media provided perhaps the greatest in-kind benefit to the Obama re-election effort. The media provided Democrats an advantage of countless billions in biased reporting. It suppressed news unflattering to Democrats while exposing or even contriving stories damaging to Republicans and mischaracterizing their positions, while uncritically promoting the Democrat narrative:
  • The networks suppressed facts surrounding Benghazigate, leading moderate Democrat commentator Pat Caddell to label the media “the enemy of America.”
  • The mass media have been, with a few notable exceptions, largely silent on the “Fast and Furious” DOJ gunrunning scandal responsible for the deaths of two Americans and countless Mexicans. Eric Holder has been able to successfully deflect calls for an independent investigation of Fast and Furious because the media offers no pressure.
  • CBS withheld its knowledge of the Petraeus affair until after the election to save the administration embarrassment
  • The administration withheld a damning food stamp report showing the biggest monthly increase in a year, until well after the election

WND’s evaluation of evidence of vote fraud during 2012 found members of the president’s team “did everything possible to rig the game in their favor.”
“They took liberties with the law Republicans would never dare attempt and obstructed voter-integrity efforts at every turn, while the vast political-media-entertainment-education-union-nonprofit complex went all in to promote Obama’s narrative.”
Democrats and their media allies also engaged in what has been described as a dishonest and “vicious” campaign to discredit the Republican nominee while steadfastly shielding the administration from its many scandals. Any of these scandals could have sunk Obama’s reelection prospects had the media reported them with the enthusiasm they showed in attacking and spreading disinformation about Romney.

Reports that were confirmed:
  • 75 GOP vote inspectors were ordered to leave Philadelphia poll locations by Democrat poll judges. One judge was caught on audio. A court order sent them back but who knows what went on while they were gone? These poll locations were all within the 59 precincts where Romney received no votes.
  • In Philadelphia, the Community Voters Project, an ACORN clone that employs some former ACORN workers, shredded Republican voter registrations. This is not the first time they have been in trouble.
  • The Florida AFL-CIO threatened True the Vote and Tampa Fair Vote with legal action for submitting voter registration challenges.
  • Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings issued a highly publicized threat against True the Vote and Election Integrity Maryland just for checking voter rolls. EIM found 11,000 questionable registrations, including 1,566 dead voters. The Maryland Board of Elections took no action.
  • Cummings also attacked the Ohio Voter Integrity Project with the same baseless claims.
  • Think Progress falsely claimed True the Vote was “under investigation” by Rep. Cummings, when in fact he has no legal authority to do so.
  • Despite overwhelming nonpartisan public support for voter ID laws, Attorney General Eric Holder’s Justice Department and liberal jurists have delayed, emasculated or defeated ID laws in Texas, Wisconsin, South Carolina, Arizona and Pennsylvania.
  • Holder has vowed to fight voter ID laws as restricting voters’ rights.
  • The Obama administration “spiked investigations” of eight states that had major voter roll problems.
  • The Holder Justice Department conspired with Project Vote on National Voter Registration Act (aka Motor Voter) enforcement lawsuits, which force state and local agencies to become, essentially, low income voter registration drives.
  • In 2009 DOJ announced to its attorneys that it would not enforce voter roll maintenance laws because it wouldn’t increase voter turnout.
The Pew Research Center published a report showing election rolls in a shambles nationwide. It found:
  • 24 million invalid or inaccurate voter registrations
  • 1.8 million deceased voters
  • 2.75 million registered in multiple states.
Confirmed voter fraud and other abuses
Countless cases of confirmed vote fraud were reported in the recent cycle and the Obama team repeatedly rode the razor’s edge of legality in pushing voters to the polls. A few examples:
  • Patrick Moran, son of longtime U.S. Rep. Jim Moran, was caught on video by James O’Keefe’s Veritas Project, telling an undercover journalist how to commit vote fraud.

Eight years ago today, former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri was murdered together with 22 other victims by a car bomb in Beirut. Those who initiated the killing sought to undermine Lebanon's sovereignty and independence. This act of cold blooded mass murder sent shivers throughout the region. I will never forget sitting in Beirut soon after for my meetings held next to a portrait of Hariri shrouded in black. The grief was palpable across a city and nation in mourning and upheaval. ‪
Eight years later, the United States reaffirms that we reject the use of assassination as a political tool by parties within or outside Lebanon, and we stand with the Lebanese people as they seek to make clear once and for all that political assassination and politically motivated violence will no longer be carried out with impunity. We support the work of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon to independently investigate and hold accountable those responsible for the assassination of Hariri and the others killed and injured on that tragic day.‪
Since the Hariri assassination, too many more of Lebanon’s citizens have fallen in targeted killings, including Wissam al-Hasan just four months ago, and still others have been targeted in assassination attempts, including Lebanese Forces Party Leader Dr. Samir Geagea and independent MP Boutros Harb. The killing must end and those responsible must be held accountable.‪

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Prominent Iranian politicians and clerics led mourners at a funeral Thursday for a senior commander of the country's powerful Revolutionary Guards who was killed this week while traveling from Syria to Lebanon, local media said.
The semiofficial Fars news agency identified the slain commander as Gen. Hassan Shateri, and said he was in charge of reconstruction projects in southern Lebanon. He was killed on the road linking Damascus with Beirut on Wednesday, it said.
The exact details surrounding Shateri's death — such as where he was killed and who killed him — were still murky two days later. Fars did not specify whether the slaying took place on the Lebanese or Syrian side of the border, although an Iranian official in Damascus said Shateri was killed inside Syria.
Guards spokesman Gen. Ramazan Sharif was quoted by Fars as saying "mercenaries and supporters" of Israel were responsible. It was unclear whether that allegation meant to implicate the Jewish state itself or rebels fighting the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
The Israeli military had no comment.
Syria and its supporters often refer to the rebels as "terrorists" and "mercenaries" backed by foreign powers, including Israel, although Israel is not known to have any links with Syria's rebels.
None of the dozens of rebel groups fighting in Syria claimed responsibility for the killing, though all are outspoken about their enmity for Iran because of its consistent support for Assad's regime.
Shateri's death points to the support that Iran, the region's Shiite power, provides to both Syrian President Bashar Assad and the Lebanese militant Shiite movement Hezbollah. Tehran lends political and military support to Damascus, a close ally, as well as Hezbollah, Iran's proxy in the region.
The Syrian regime and Hezbollah are both critical to Iran's Middle East strategy, and Tehran has pledged to continue its support for Assad as he tries to fend off a relentless and bloody rebellion aimed at toppling his family's 40-year rule.
Tehran counts on Syria as a bridge to Hezbollah — a dominant political force in Lebanon — and an important foothold for the Guard.
In September, the Guard's top commander, Jafari, made a rare public acknowledgment that the elite unit has had high-level advisers in Lebanon and Syria for a long time, but was not more specific. Those comments marked the clearest indication of Iran's direct assistance to its main Arab allies.
Thursday's funeral for Shateri took place at a mosque in north Tehran, Fars and ISNA said.
Several high-ranking Iranian figures attended the service, including Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, Guard chief Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari and the head of the Guard's Quds Force, Gen. Ghasem Soleimani. Senior clerics, such as Ayatollah Ali Saeedi, the representative of Iran's supreme leader to the Guards, also took part.
Footage of the service broadcast on state TV showed footage of mourners carrying aloft a coffin.
It is unclear what Shateri was doing in Syria. The Iranian official in Damascus said Shateri was on a work visit and that three of his assistants were wounded in the attack. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief the media.
Fars, which is close to the Guards, said Shateri was a veteran of the 1980s Iran-Iraq war, and served in Afghanistan before moving to Lebanon. He is to be buried Friday in his hometown of Semnan, some 150 kilometers (90 miles) east of Tehran.
Lebanese news reports provided a similar account of the killing but a different name.
Al-Manar TV, which is owned by Hezbollah, identified the dead man as Houssam Khosh Nweis. It said he was the director of the Iranian Council for Reconstruction in Lebanon, and that he had lived in the country since the end of the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah.
The difference in the name could not immediately be reconciled, but Iranian military officials in Lebanon often work under an assumed name because their presence in the country is not publicized by Hezbollah.
Lebanese security officials told The Associated Press there was no indication that the Iranian official was killed on Lebanese soil. The official spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations.

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Lebanese opposition leader Saad al-Hariri predicted on Thursday the downfall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, whom he accuses of assassinating his father in a massive bomb attack in 2005.
"The regime of Bashar al-Assad will inevitably go down. And its collapse will be loud not only in Syria but across the Arab world," Hariri said, speaking by a video link from Riyadh to mark the eighth anniversary of his father's assassination.
Rafik al-Hariri, a former prime minister of Lebanon, was killed by an explosion detonated near his motorcade in Beirut.
Lebanon, where Syria still wields significant influence, is deeply divided over the Syrian revolt and fears that the sectarian civil war that has claimed nearly 70,000 lives, according to a United Nations estimate, could spill over into its smaller neighbor.
In December, Syria issued arrest warrants against Hariri and a close political ally for "terrorist crimes" of financing and arming rebels fighting Assad.
Hariri, who lives outside Lebanon because of concerns for his security, said he will join his supporters in Lebanon during the parliamentary election expected in the summer.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of State John Kerry said Wednesday he has some new ideas on how to change Syrian President Bashar Assad's calculation on remaining in power, suggesting the Obama administration may take additional measures to put pressure his regime.
Kerry told reporters after meeting with Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh at the State Department that he hoped Assad could be convinced to enter into a negotiated solution with the Syrian opposition that would end almost two years of bloody violence that has killed nearly 70,000 people and move forward with true democratic reform.
"We need to address the question of President Assad's calculation currently. I believe there are additional things that can be done to change his current perception," he said, adding: "I've got a good sense of what I think we might propose."
Kerry did not elaborate on the ideas and pointedly offered no guarantee of success, particularly since Assad has defied calls to step down and clung to power throughout the crisis that has grown increasingly desperate. But, Kerry said his priority was to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
"I can assure you my goal is to see us change his calculation, my goal is to see us have a negotiated outcome and minimize the violence," he said. "It may not be possible. I am not going to stand here and tell you that's automatic or easily achievable. There are a lot of forces that have been unleashed here over the course of the last months."
The former chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee said he would be discussing his ideas with officials when he visits Europe and the Middle East beginning in the last week of February.
As a senator, Kerry had floated several ideas for ramping up the pressure on Assad, including creating protected safe zones for regime opponents and arming the rebels fighting to oust him
State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said the administration's position remains that supplying weapons would only exacerbate the killing. She said the United States would continue to provide only non-lethal and humanitarian assistance to the opposition.
She did, however, say that Assad is living in a "fantasy world" if he thinks he can survive the ongoing rebellion.
Kerry is a longtime friend of Judeh, the Jordanian foreign minister, whose country is deeply concerned not only with the situation in Syria and the status of the Assad regime's chemical weapons stockpiles, but also the nearly moribund Middle East peace process.
Judeh said he was pleased that President Barack Obama and his administration were committed to trying to achieve a lasting settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and urged action to try to restart peace talks.
Kerry's trip to the Mideast will lay the groundwork for a visit to Israel, the Palestinian territories and Jordan by Obama in the spring. But Kerry warned against expecting major developments, noting that it could be "arrogant" to propose a new formula for negotiations before hearing from leaders in the region.
"The president is not prepared at this point in time to do more than listen to the parties, which is why he has announced he is going to go to Israel," Kerry said. "That affords him an opportunity to listen.
"I think we start out by listening and get a sense of what the current state of possibilities are, and then begin to make some choices," he said. "It would be a huge mistake, almost an arrogant step, to suddenly be announcing this and that without listening first."
Yet, he stressed that the administration was ready "to explore every possibility" for peace.
"The window is closing on this possibility, the region knows it," Kerry said. "It deserves our utmost consideration and it will get that."

Qatar is to hand over the Syrian embassy in its capital, Doha, to Syria's main opposition group.
The news was announced by the Syrian National Coalition (SNC), which has already appointed an ambassador.
Qatar was among the first states to recognise the SNC as the official representative of the Syrian people.
Meanwhile, Syria's former foreign ministry spokesman has told the BBC he abandoned the regime because his hopes for reform had been dashed.
Jihad Makdissi, who disappeared from Damascus in early December, told BBC Arabic he left Syria quietly to be independent and support what he called "the peaceful change that's based on national dialogue and partnership away from hatred, extremism and foreign military intervention".
Mr Makdissi had been one of the main public faces of the regime, outlining its position in many news conferences.
His whereabouts remain unknown, though in a statement to the BBC he said he was not in Europe or the US but with "brothers" who were supporting the Syrian people without discrimination.
Mr Makdissi said he left in the way he did because he did not want to be used as a "dagger" by one side against the other.
'Defensive weapons'
According to the SNC, the opposition flag will fly over the embassy in Doha, and the new ambassador and two of his staff will be accorded full diplomatic status.

The SNC has appointed ambassadors to other states which have recognised it, including the UK and France, but Qatar is the first to hand over an embassy, the BBC's Jim Muir reports from Beirut.
Clearly, the coalition hopes others will follow suit, our correspondent adds.
UN human rights chief Navi Pillay meanwhile has said the death toll in Syria had reached nearly 70,000 since the uprising began in March 2011.
At the start of this year Ms Pillay had estimated a death toll of at least 60,000.
Speaking at a UN Security Council debate in New York on Tuesday, Ms Pillay called on the Council to refer the situation in Syria to the International Criminal Court.
"The lack of consensus on Syria and the resulting inaction has been disastrous and civilians on all sides have paid the price," she said.
"We will be judged against the tragedy that has unfolded before our eyes."
On Wednesday, Russia confirmed it is still supplying arms to Syria's government. However, Anatoly Isaikin, the head of the state arms exporter, Rosoboronexport, said the supplies did not include attack weapons such as planes or helicopters.
Mr Isaikin said Russia's contracted defence shipments to Syria would continue "in the absence of sanctions".
"But these aren't offensive weapons," he stressed. "We are mostly shipping air defence systems and repair equipment intended for various branches of the military."
Russia, together with China, has opposed moves at the UN to place sanctions on President Bashar al-Assad's government.

CAIRO (AP) — An Egyptian opposition group accused the government on Wednesday of covering up torture at the hands of security forces.
The charge came after a government forensic report claimed 28-year-old activist Mohammed el-Gindy was killed in a car accident. It contradicted family and friends, who said he died after he was electrocuted and beaten on his head repeatedly in detention earlier this month.
In a separate case, activists also accused authorities of trying to conceal the identity and age of 12-year-old Omar Salah, killed by security forces' gunfire during clashes around Cairo's Tahrir Square on Feb. 3.
In El-Gindy's death, initially the justice minister, who oversees the state forensic authority, said it was caused by a car accident. But then the chief of the forensic authority denied the justice minister's statement and said the report was not final.
When the final report came out, it listed car accident as the cause of death, leading some to suspect foul play. Security officials deny that they held him.
El-Gindy was a member of the Popular Current opposition group, which called the forensic report "fraudulent" and said it will challenge it.
"The Popular Current plans to pursue a legal complaint, charging that the forensic authorities have forged it, and will go after all those who took part in this crime," the statement said.
It said those people including President Mohammed Morsi and his interior and justice minister.
The group said it has its own medical reports prepared by doctors who saw el-Gindy in the hospital and morgue. It shows that el-Gindy was strangled, electrocuted on his tongue, and had a deep gash in the back of his neck. They claimed he was tortured during detention.
El-Gindy, who had taken part in anti-government protests that began last month, died Feb. 4. Word of his death provoked violent protests in his hometown of Tanta northwest of Cairo.
In the case of the child killed, security officials had said they mistakenly killed a street vendor on Feb. 3. Security officials did not report that the dead person was a 12-year-old and didn't record the case in hospital records or allow a forensic report, according to activists who compile data from visits to hospitals, morgues and police stations.
Security officials had no comments about Salah's case. Attempts to reach the spokesman for the Interior Ministry were unsuccessful.
The two deaths came during a heavy-handed crackdown by security forces on protesters that had the opposition charging police had returned to the repressive tactics used under the ousted regime of autocrat Hosni Mubarak.
Nearly 70 civilians were killed in the wave of clashes that began around the second anniversary of Egypt's uprising on Jan. 25. Violence has been tapering off but there are still sporadic clashes.
Nazly Hussein, an activist who has been recording cases of detained and injured during protests, said nearly 400 protesters were detained in Cairo. She alleged many of them were held first in security camps without proper procedures and tortured before being transferred to jails and prosecutors for questioning.
Of those, more than 100 were children under the age of 18 and 42 of those were under 15, said Ghada Shahbander, a rights activist. Egyptian law prohibits detention of children under age 15.
The list of those detained or currently facing charges is patchy because activists and lawyers are still working to compile lists and struggling with a lack of due process.
Many of the detained have been released but at least one activist is still believed to be missing.
"There is no transparency in any of the information we are getting," said Hussein. "We coincidentally found out about (the 12-year old) Omar Salah. ... We don't know what else may be happening."
Opposition activists charge that police, the main target of discontent in the uprising that forced Mubarak out, continue to enjoy impunity for past human rights violations. As a result, they say, violations continue.
The dispute surrounding El-Gindy's death was reminiscent of the case of Khaled Said — one of the sparks of the uprising.
Said died in 2010 of police abuse but authorities tried to claim he suffocated on a stash of drugs.
The case sparked an unprecedented nationwide protest movement.

Britain warns of Syria jihadist threat to Europe

LONDON (Reuters) - The longer Syria's conflict goes on, the greater the risk it will breed a new generation of battle-hardened militants who will pose a threat to Britain and other countries in Europe, British Foreign Secretary William Hague said on Thursday.
Hague aimed his comments at Russia, which has had its own problems with attacks by Islamist militants, and has along with China repeatedly blocked U.N. Security Council action against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Assad is locked in an almost two-year war with rebels that has killed nearly 70,000 people and has become a magnet for foreign jihadists intent on replacing Assad's mostly secular rule with a radical Islamic state.
Hague said Britain had not lost faith in the Arab Spring revolutions that in the last two years have deposed four autocratic leaders, but warned that Syria was the most acute case of the movement being "hijacked" by militants.
Hague, in a speech outlining British counter-terrorism strategy, labeled Syria the "number one destination for jihadists anywhere in the world today".
"This includes a number of individuals connected with the United Kingdom and other European countries," he told reporters at London's Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) defense think-tank.
"They may not pose a threat to us when they first go to Syria but if they survive some may return ideologically hardened and with experience of weapons and explosives," he said.
"The longer the conflict continues, the greater this danger will become, a point that should not be lost on policymakers in Russia and elsewhere," he added.
Hague urged Russia and China to back U.N. Security Council efforts for a negotiated solution to the conflict involving the opposition and "elements of the regime", or face the growing risk of the use of Syrian chemical or biological weapons.
Syria sits in a volatile region of Middle East conflict, with neighbors including Iraq, Lebanon and Israel.
At an EU foreign ministers meeting in Brussels next week, Britain will urge counterparts to review an EU arms embargo on Syria, which rolls over on March 1, to allow more help for the Syrian opposition seeking Assad's ouster.
RIGHTS AND INTELLIGENCE
Hague highlighted the potential risk from Syria in the context of a new policy framework on how to cooperate on intelligence with countries suspected of human rights abuses.
Britain has long wrestled with how to uphold its opposition to all forms of torture while ensuring it can gather information about planned attacks by militants, some of which might have been obtained through ill-treatment of suspects.
That has led to accusations of collusion in torture and a number of embarrassing legal defeats.
In December Britain agreed to pay more than 2 million pounds ($3.1 million) to the family of a leading opponent of late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi who said Britain was involved in his rendition to Tripoli where he was tortured.
Setting out the government's counter-terrorism strategy, Hague argued that Britain faced a dilemma over whether to work with states unable to guarantee suspects won't be abused.
He said many countries would be able to give "credible assurances" that they will not mistreat suspects.
"Where this is not the case, we face a stark choice. We could disengage, or we can choose to cooperate with them in a carefully controlled way while developing a more comprehensive approach to human rights adherence.
"This approach brings risk, but I am clear that the risks of the first option, of stepping back, are greater still, placing our citizens at greater risk of terrorist attack," he added.
Hague outlined formal safeguards and conditions for cooperating with countries with poor human rights records, a plan experts say is a way of trying to avoid the legal battles and controversy such collaboration has resulted in the past.
"There's an awareness that we have to have our legal back covered somewhat more, that we have to have a framework in place that will not leave us firefighting after the fact," said Shashank Joshi, security expert at RUSI.
"There's no choice. In every serious theatre of counter-terrorism, you always have regimes that will never meet the human rights standards William Hague has outlined."

FAA seeks proposals to create six US drone test sites

(Reuters) - The Federal Aviation Administration on Thursday asked for proposals to develop six research and test sites for unmanned aircraft systems, or drones, around the United States.
Congress directed the FAA in 2012 to establish the program to conduct critical research into how best to safely integrate the unmanned aircarft into the national airspace.
Under the FAA proposal each test site operator must ensure that its privacy policies conform to Fair Information Practice Principles, a framework at the core of numerous federal and state privacy laws.
A 60-day public comment period is planned, and during that time FAA plans an online listening session to solicit additional comments on its proposed privacy steps.
Selection of the sites is expected later this year.

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - The U.N. Security Council on Tuesday "strongly condemned"North Korea's third nuclear test and vowed to take action against Pyongyang, the president of the Security Council said.
"The members of the Security Council strongly condemned this test, which is a grave violation of Security Council resolutions," South Korean Foreign Minister Kim Sung-hwan, whose country is president of the council this month, told reporters. He said the council would now consider "appropriate measures."
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said that Washington and its allies intended to "augment the sanctions regime" already in place due to Pyongyang's 2006 and 2009 atomic tests.

(CNSNews.com) – House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) challenged President Barack Obama’s assertions about climate change policy on Thursday, saying there was not anything the president could do if Congress refuses to pass the climate bill Obama called for in his State of the Union speech.
“I don’t know what actions the president thinks he can take,” Boehner said at his weekly press conference Thursday. “I don’t think he has the ability to impose a national energy tax on Americans without the authority of Congress.”
“He may attempt to do this, but I’m not sure how much he can really do,” said Boehner.
In his speech on Tuesday, Obama called for legislation addressing climate change (global warming) and threatened to use his executive authority if Congress does not act.
“I urge this Congress to get together, pursue a bipartisan, market-based solution to climate change,” Obama said. “But if Congress won’t act soon to protect future generations, I will. I will direct my Cabinet to come up with executive actions we can take, now and in the future, to reduce pollution, prepare our communities for the consequences of climate change, and speed the transition to more sustainable sources of energy.”
As Boehner pointed out, it is difficult to see what actions Obama can take in those areas because each would require congressional funding, something that would have to pass through the GOP-controlled House and the Senate where Democrats have been reluctant to take up controversial pieces of Obama’s agenda because the Democrat Party suffered losses in the 2010 mid-term elections.
Even the most direct route – EPA regulations on carbon dioxide – would have to face congressional scrutiny. While the EPA is allowed to regulate CO2 as a pollutant under the Clean Air Act, any cap-and-trade or other national regulatory scheme it put in place would still depend on new federal funds, which would have to be approved by Congress.
In his opening remarks at the press conference, Boehner challenged Senate Democrats to take up their president’s agenda, saying that if  Obama wanted action, Democrats should lead the way.
“The president likes to attack Congress but if he’s serious about enacting his agenda, I think it must start with the part of this Congress that his party controls – the United States Senate,” Boehner said.
“What can he get passed in the United States Senate? The president wants to impose a national cap-and-trade energy tax. I would hope that Senate Democrats would take it up.”

Federal Budget Cuts Threaten Childhood Cancer Research

I would like to introduce you to my son, Luke. He is 7 years old. He loves Star Wars, Legos, and art. He is thriving in first grade. He is an older brother, a son, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin, and a loving friend. He is also a cancer survivor.


Luke was diagnosed with stage 4 embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS), cancer of soft muscle tissue, at age 3. He endured 70 weeks of treatment, which included multiple rounds of chemotherapy and six weeks of radiation.

The chemotherapy used to treat my son was developed more than 20 years ago for use in adults. Sadly, funding for childhood cancer research severely lags behind funding for adult cancers.

Kids with cancer enter the fiscal cliff debate on an already uneven playing field. Only 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget is dedicated to childhood cancer research, crippling research efforts and forcing the private sector to fill the funding gaps.

The proposed budget cuts will make funding childhood cancer research an even bigger challenge. These cuts have the potential to impact an entire generation of childhood cancer patients.

The Children’s Oncology Group (COG) supports more than 8,000 pediatric cancer researchers and scientists at more than 200 children’s hospitals, universities, and cancer centers around the world, and the St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the COG’s largest funder after the U.S. government. Luke was treated at a COG hospital in Michigan, and his treatment was the direct result of a COG clinical trial.

If allowed to occur, the federal budget cuts will severely limit childhood cancer research. Staff cuts at the COG would send operations to a screeching halt. Research slated for 2013 and beyond would end, causing research delays that will have devastating repercussions for the children who are currently being treated at a COG facility and for children who are yet to be diagnosed.

My son’s life was saved with treatments developed by COG researchers. Luke continues to be monitored by a COG facility. He receives regular MRIs, x-rays, and consultations with his team of oncologists. If access is limited COG facilities and doctors, Luke and other children currently in treatment run the risk of being orphaned by the system.

My husband and I are fortunate and grateful that our son survived. Not every family gets this news. One in five children diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. will not survive . This statistic is already too high. If the budget sequester is allowed to happen, the chances of having success stories like Luke’s will be even less.

Budget battle in D.C. threatens cancer research in WNY

Cancer research is at serious risk if President Obama and Congress fail to prevent steep automatic cuts in federal spending scheduled to kick in March 1, Buffalo officials warned Monday.
If Congress doesn’t prevent a budget process known as sequestration, which was created by Congress in 2011 to force the government to address the federal budget deficit, spending on the National Institutes of Health would drop by more than $2.5 billion to about $28.3 billion, according to reports.
The National Cancer Institute, a part of NIH, would see its funding cut by about $1.5 billion, or 5.1 percent, including more than $250 million in cuts for cancer research, a report by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network shows.
The impact on institutions such as Roswell Park Cancer Institute could be huge. In 2012, the cancer center received more than $60 million in direct and indirect NIH or NCI funding. A steep drop would slow progress in cancer treatment and cost jobs, officials said.
“The impact will be damaging immediately and imperil the next generation of cancer researchers,” Dr. Donald Trump, president and chief executive officer of the cancer center, said Monday.
He was joined by Hillary Clarke, director of federal government relations for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network; Rep. Brian Higgins, D-Buffalo; and Averl Anderson, a Cheektowaga woman who was successfully treated for breast cancer at Roswell Park with a drug in a clinical trial.
Clarke characterized sequestration as a “mindless” cut in funding and, citing the report from the Cancer Action Network on the medical and economic benefits of cancer research, said an investment in research was an important driver of the national and local economies.
The NIH budget has remained essentially flat over the past decade, according to the American Association for Cancer Research, a trend that could slow the progress of new discoveries.
Trump and others cited the hundreds of jobs in Buffalo tied to federal research funding. Trump also talked about the six companies that have developed in Buffalo out of Roswell Park as a result of research there.
“Cancer research is good medicine and good economics,” he said.
It’s unclear what will happen in Washington.
Obama, saying the cuts under sequestration would damage the economy, has asked Congress for a short-term deficit-reduction package of spending cuts and tax revenue that would delay the automatic cuts scheduled to take effect at the beginning of next month.
However, some congressional Republicans have suggested that they see automatic cuts as the only way of achieving deficit reduction, even though the cuts would hit programs they support, such as defense.
“Most economists believe sequestration means the economy will go back into recession,” Higgins said.
As for the impact on cancer research, Higgins noted that health-related funding needs to be consistent to be effective because treatment discoveries occur in stages over long periods of time.
“My hope is that Congress will see the wisdom of doing robust investment in cancer research and won’t cut back. We’ve always led as a nation in this area. It is essential,” he said.

The U.S. Postal Service will be transitioning to a new delivery schedule the week of Aug. 5. Under the plan, packages will be delivered Monday through Saturday, and mail Monday through Friday. The change will save USPS about $2 billion annually once the schedule is implemented.
Postmaster General Pat Donahoe said the new approach reflects the strong growth of our package business and responds to the financial realities of America’s changing mailing habits. “We developed this approach by working with our customers to understand their delivery needs,” Donahoe said, “and by identifying creative ways to generate significant cost savings.”
Recent strong growth in package delivery – a 14 percent revenue increase since 2010, and projections of continued strong package growth – led to the decision to maintain package delivery six days a week.
Mail delivery to street addresses will be Monday through Friday. Packages will continue to be delivered six days a week, Monday through Saturday. Mail addressed to post office boxes will continue to be delivered Saturdays. Post offices currently open on Saturdays will remain open.

WASHINGTON — The United States Postal Service announced plans today to transition to a new delivery schedule during the week of Aug. 5, 2013 that includes package delivery Monday through Saturday, and mail delivery Monday through Friday. The Postal Service expects to generate cost savings of approximately $2 billion annually, once the plan is fully implemented.
“The Postal Service is advancing an important new approach to delivery that reflects the strong growth of our package business and responds to the financial realities resulting from America’s changing mailing habits,” said Patrick R. Donahoe, Postmaster General and CEO. “We developed this approach by working with our customers to understand their delivery needs and by identifying creative ways to generate significant cost savings.”
Over the past several years, the Postal Service has advocated shifting to a five-day delivery schedule for mail and packages. However, recent strong growth in package delivery (14 percent volume increase since 2010) and projections of continued strong package growth throughout the coming decade led to the revised approach to maintain package delivery six days per week.
“Our customers see strong value in the national delivery platform we provide and maintaining a six-day delivery schedule for packages is an important part of that platform,” said Donahoe. “As consumers increasingly use and rely on delivery services — especially due to the rise of e-commerce — we can play an increasingly vital role as a delivery provider of choice, and as a driver of growth opportunities for America’s businesses.”
Once implemented during August of 2013, mail delivery to street addresses will occur Monday through Friday. Packages will continue to be delivered six days per week. Mail addressed to PO Boxes will continue to be delivered on Saturdays. Post Offices currently open on Saturdays will remain open on Saturdays.
Market research conducted by the Postal Service and independent research by major news organizations indicate that nearly seven out of ten Americans (70 percent) supported the switch to five-day delivery as a way for the Postal Service to reduce costs in its effort to return the organization to financial stability.¹ Support for this approach will likely be even higher since the Postal Service plans to maintain six-day package delivery.
The Postal Service is making the announcement today, more than six months in advance of implementing five-day mail delivery schedule, to give residential and business customers time to plan and adjust. The Postal Service plans to publish specific guidance in the near future for residential and business customers about its new delivery schedule.
Given the ongoing financial challenges, the Postal Service Board of Governors last month directed postal management to accelerate the restructuring of Postal Service operations in order to strengthen Postal Service finances.
“The American public understands the financial challenges of the Postal Service and supports these steps as a responsible and reasonable approach to improving our financial situation,” said Donahoe. “The Postal Service has a responsibility to take the steps necessary to return to long-term financial stability and ensure the continued affordability of the U.S. Mail.”
The operational plan for the new delivery schedule anticipates a combination of employee reassignment and attrition and is expected to achieve cost savings of approximately $2 billion annually when fully implemented.
The Postal Service is currently implementing major restructuring throughout its retail, delivery and mail processing operations. Since 2006, the Postal Service has reduced its annual cost base by approximately $15 billion, reduced the size of its career workforce by 193,000 or 28 percent, and has consolidated more than 200 mail processing locations. During these unprecedented initiatives, the Postal Service continued to deliver record high levels of service to its customers.
While the change in the delivery schedule announced today is one of the actions needed to restore the financial health of the Postal Service, legislative change is urgently needed to address matters outside the Postal Service’s control. The Postal Service continues to seek legislation to provide it with greater flexibility to control costs and generate new revenue and encourages the 113th Congress to make postal reform legislation an urgent priority.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.

Drug Money Tug Of War: Sheriff V. Commissioner

Greensboro, NC -- There's a tug of war of sorts in Guilford County over drug money.
We're talking about the money the Guilford County Sheriff's Office has confiscated during drugs busts, and now, legally belongs to the sheriff.
However, some Guilford County commissioners want to tell Sheriff B.J. Barnes how he should use it.
Guilford County commissioners could be looking at a $40 million budget gap this year.
So, they're looking at every possible way to fill it. And the sheriff's federal forfeiture fund has caught their attention.
"We have $665,000 in federal forfeiture funds, why not use some of that to operate our new jail facility? Obviously, our operating cost has gone up, and that right there could certainly help our budget situation. It can't cure all," said County Commissioner Bruce Davis.
Sounds simple, but Barnes says not so fast.
Barnes said there are specific rules, laid out by the federal government, about how his office can use that money.
"It can't be used to augment or supplement a budget. It has to be used for law enforcement in situations where they normally would not be able to purchase it, had it not been for these funds," said Barnes.
Barnes said, in his 18 years as Sheriff, his office has used about $4.5 million in drug money to buy new buildings, new guns, bullet-proof vests, pay for undercover investigations to catch more criminals, and the list goes on.
His concern is, the money cannot be used for any re-occurring cost.
If it is, Barnes is the one who could get in trouble for it. He would also have to re-pay the $4.5 million his office has already used.
Barnes already asked commissioners if he could use the drug money to buy segways for school resource officers traveling between the middle and high schools.
Commissioners shot him down.
If Barnes doesn't spend the money, the feds take it back.
But with a $40 million budget deficit, Davis said they have to use the drug money for pressing needs.
Davis said county departments have already made cuts. They can't cut anything else from their budgets, so commissioners are already looking at tough decisions.
"Now you're down to the bones. So, all the fat is gone. So, if we're not willing to increase the taxes, then we're going to have to cut personnel," said Davis.
WFMY News 2 also spoke with Commissioner Carolyn Coleman on Tuesday.
Coleman said she doesn't think there are enough votes for a tax increase, so she thinks commissioners will likely be talking major layoffs.
Coleman said they'll probably start talking more about it at the commissioners' work session next Thursday.

Lautenberg, Oldest Member of Senate, Will Step Down

Mr. Lautenberg, at 89 the oldest member of the Senate, was to officially announce his decision Friday in Paterson, where he grew up the son of poor immigrant parents. “This is not the end of anything, but rather the beginning of a two-year mission to pass new gun safety laws, protect children from toxic chemicals, and create more opportunities for working families in New Jersey,” he said in a statement. “While I may not be seeking re-election, there is plenty of work to do before the end of this term, and I’m going to keep fighting as hard as ever for the people of New Jersey in the U.S. Senate.”
Mr. Lautenberg, a Democrat who earned his fortune as a founder of the huge payroll firm Automatic Data Processing, had left the Senate once before, in 2001, but hated retirement so much that he jumped at the chance to return when the state’s Democratic Party was looking for someone to replace Senator Robert Torricelli, facing an ethics investigation, on the ballot in 2002.
This time, Mr. Lautenberg’s decision has been on-again-off-again for several months. His office was initially considering announcing it at the annual dinner of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce in Washington in January, but it had been complicated by Mayor Cory A. Booker of Newark, a Democrat who announced in December that he would seek the Senate seat — whether or not Mr. Lautenberg retired.
Mr. Lautenberg’s aides had been telling Mr. Booker that the senator was leaning toward retirement, and that the decision was coming soon. When Mr. Booker declared his candidacy anyway, Mr. Lautenberg was openly upset, so much that the senator began talking about running again.
His family was pressing for his retirement, but Mr. Lautenberg was reluctant to step away from his work in Washington, particularly when the Senate has historically had members who work well into old age. Mr. Lautenberg counts as his biggest achievement the ban on smoking on airplanes, which set off the process that in which many governments ultimately banned smoking in restaurants and other public spaces. He also led battles to lower the legal blood-alcohol limit to 0.08 percent; to raise the drinking age to 21; and to force companies to disclose what chemicals they emit into the air and the water.

During a Wednesday confirmation hearing before the Senate Finance Committee, Obama Treasury Secretary nominee Jack Lew pled ignorance to a $56,000 investment he held in a Cayman Islands fund registered to Ugland House, the exact building that President Barack Obama has called“the largest tax scam in the world.”

"I always reported all income, I always paid all taxes," explained Lew. "I was aware that it was an international fund investing in emerging markets... I actually didn't know [its location] at the time."
The topic of Cayman Island tax-shelters became an issue during the 2012 presidential contest when Obama ran a blistering attack ad against Republican challenger Mitt Romney for having investments in the Caymans.
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) drilled Lew about whether it was “morally acceptable” for him to take a nearly $950,000 bonus just days after Citigroup received billions in taxpayer-funded bailout money when Lew left his role as Citigroup chief operating officer.
"I was compensated for my work," said Lew. "I do believe it was comparable for people in positions like mine in the industry. I don't think there's anything that hasn't been fully transparent both in what I did and what I earned."

Previously, Obama blasted Wall Street bonuses as “obscene,” calling them examples of “fat cats who are getting awarded for their failure.”

Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee Orrin Hatch (R-UT) said Lew’s anemic answer on why he took a $950,000 bonus was akin to, “Gee, Dad, everyone was doing it.”
As the three-and-a-half-hour confirmation hearing drew to a close, however, Lew’s confirmation looked more certain.  Indeed, Sen. Hatch himself complimented the Obama nominee.  “Frankly, I think you did very well,” said Hatch.

The Problem is Most Americans Still Believe It’s All Bush’s FaultMost Americans do not like most of the policies of President Obama. If this is the case, then why do they still support him? Because a majority of people still blame George Bush for the state of the economy, and the President, even with all his faults, has their best interests at heart.

The seeds of the economic crisis that hit in 2008 were sown long before the two Bush presidents.
Today’s voters are schizophrenic. There’s a reason for it, as I hope to show below. Rush Limbaugh said the following on yesterday’s show:
[On February 11], we had the Gallup poll, and on every issue except one — and I forget what the one issue was — every issue, every policy, by vast majority numbers, the American people disagree with Obama. A vast majority disagree with Obama on every policy. I mean, it’s not close. In some cases, the numbers of people that disagree are in the 60 percentages, and the people agree with Obama are in the forties. But they liked [his State of the Union Address Tuesday] night. They thought it was exactly what was called for.
A New York Times story reports that while there is dissatisfaction with the country’s direction, they still support Obama’s agenda. Like Limbaugh, I am confused, but like Limbaugh, not really. We’re back to low information voters again. I have to say it: Most Americans are ignorant. They lack information and the ability to process new information if it does not fit with their poorly developed interpretive grid on how they see the world. They’re not stupid. They’ve been propagandized.
You don’t have to be a genius to figure out basic math and its application to economics. Our nation’s schools require at least three years of higher math, sometimes four, but most high school graduates don’t have the slightest idea how our economy works, and you don’t need algebra, geometry, trigonometry, or calculus to know.
There are many Americans who believe that the downturn in the economy is complicated and that capitalism is the culprit and has been discredited. The credit crisis was not the fault of capitalism but with anti-capitalist (free market) policies brought on by government intervention. Congress created an economic fiction by subsidizing loans that no bank or mortgage company would have done if there had not been government financial institutions behind them to insure the bad loans they were forced to make. But how do you explain this to people who don’t have the categories to understand what you’re saying? They hear you speak gibberish. They need to be economically born again.
Let’s say that three fifth graders want to purchase the latest hot video game and they heard that a friend of theirs got $500 for Christmas. Each of them wants to borrow $50 for the new game. The first fifth grader says he has a job mowing lawns and will be able to pay back the loan at the end of the summer with interest.
The second fifth grader gets a weekly allowance for doing his chores. No chores, no allowance. The same end-of-summer promise is made.
The third fifth grader doesn’t have a job, but she can guarantee that her parents will pay back the $50 at the end of the summer whether or not she can raise enough cash on her own.
The first borrower has less risk than the second borrower, but what if there is a drought and people don’t need their lawns mowed? To account for this contingency, the borrower has some items he can sell on eBay that are worth more than $100. He has collateral.
The second borrower has the greatest risk since he has no collateral to back up the loan if he defaults.
There is seemingly almost no risk with the third borrower since the loan is guaranteed by a reliable third party. But what if the parents lose their jobs? The loan is only as good as the parents’ ability to pay.
The mortgage debacle in America came to fruition because of promised government loan guarantees insured by assets from the VA, FHA, Freddie Mac (Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation), and Fannie Mae (Federal National Mortgage Association). It was the promise of the guarantee (“It’s the government!”) that made lending to high risk borrowers attractive to banks and other lenders. There was no perceived risk so the loans went to people who under normal circumstances would never have gotten a loan.
This worked as long as there weren’t too many people seeking the guarantee and there were no dips in the economy.
The transactions seemingly only had an upside. As long as there is a guarantor, as in the case of a parent who will guarantee a $50 loan, of government agencies with an unending source of capital, there was no need to scrutinize borrowers. This loan guarantee program has a long history going back to the Carter years. As with all government programs, it got bigger and bigger.
Even a 5th grader can understand this math. It’s too bad that a majority of voters are still stuck in the 3rd grade.

News Corp. Phone Hacking Scandal Widens (Again)

On the heels of its latest quarterly report showing a doubling profits, News Corp. is still reeling from the fallout from the phone hacking scandal as six former News of the World journalists were arrested on February 13 for allegedly intercepting voicemails. Two of those arrested are still employed at News Corp.
According to a February 13 Bloomberg article:
News Corp.'s phone-hacking scandal is widening after London police arrested six more former journalists at its now-defunct News of the World tabloid and uncovered a new conspiracy to intercept voicemail.
Three men and three women suspected of hacking phone messages in 2005 and 2006 were arrested today and some homes are being searched, the Metropolitan Police Service said in a statement. Two of the people arrested currently work at News Corp.'s other U.K. tabloid, the Sun, Britain's best-selling daily title.

News Corp. has settled about 200 civil phone-hacking lawsuits. It faces as many as 100 more as police continue to notify victims, lawyers said at a London court hearing last week.
At least 55 journalists have been arrested in the last two years in connection with the phone hacking investigation.
These arrests, the latest in a long string of arrests and charges for News Corp. employees, are a reminder that the media conglomerate is far from free of its ethical challenges. According to Bloomberg, lawyer Mark Lewis said, "It comes as no surprise that the lines of investigation are widening ... There is a lot further to go, and ultimately this is a problem that will continue to have reverberations at the top of News Corp."
The ongoing investigation hasn't stopped CEO Rupert Murdoch from exploring new business ventures or racking up billions in profits. News Corp. reported net profits of $2.4 billion in the last three months of 2012, mostly related to gains from cable TV and new channel acquisitions, effectively doubling its profits from the same period in 2011.
News Corp. has paid more than $340 million in costs related to the phone hacking scandal.
Last year, News Corp. announced plans to split the company into separate publishing and entertainment divisions. On a quarterly earnings call February 6, News Corp. executives said the planned separation was on track "to be completed in approximately one year from the date of announcement."

Five of six journalists from the now-defunct News of the World arrested by police investigating phone-hacking allegations have been released on bail.
The BBC understands those arrested include former assistant editor Jules Stenson, two former showbiz editors - Rav Singh and Polly Graham - and former features editor Matt Nixson.
It is understood the others detained were Rachel Richardson and Jane Atkinson, who are currently at the Sun.
Police said the case related to 2005-6.
The Metropolitan Police said all of those arrested, with the exception of a 39-year-old man, had been released on bail until a date in mid-May, pending further enquiries.
Earlier, Scotland Yard said its Operation Weeting investigation had "identified a further suspected conspiracy to intercept telephone voicemails", separate from its earlier inquiry which had seen charges laid.
The arrests were made in London and Cheshire.
The six were questioned on suspicion of conspiracy to intercept telephone communications contrary to the Criminal Law Act 1997.
The News of the World was closed down by its publisher News International in 2011 following the outrage over cases of phone hacking.
Rachel Richardson is the current editor of the Sunday Sun magazine Fabulous, while Jane Atkinson is a reporter at the Sun.
News International confirmed that two of the latest arrests related to people currently working for the Sun. A spokesman said that he did not believe the other four people were employed on News International titles.
The BBC understands that two of the other suspects now work in public relations.
In an earlier statement, the Metropolitan Police said all the suspects had worked for the News of the World.
It added: "In due course officers will be making contact with people they believe have been victims of the suspected voicemail interceptions."
Operation Weeting is being run alongside two other Scotland Yard investigations: Operation Elveden, an inquiry into allegations of illegal payments to public officials, and Operation Tuleta into computer hacking and other privacy breaches.
There have now been 32 arrests under Operation Weeting.
Fifteen people have been charged, eight of them with offences related to phone hacking and the others with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Four people have been told no further action is to be taken against them.

JERUSALEM (AP) — Foreign reports about the mysterious death of an Australian-Israeli Mossad agent in an Israeli prison two years ago have sparked a rare backlash against the country's well-respected security agencies.
Critics have accused the Israeli government of trying to cover up the affair and are demanding a full investigation, fueling a debate about balancing national security and freedom of information in a country that prides itself as a vibrant democracy.
"Israel is a democracy in its basis, but it doesn't adapt itself to the modern age actually," Avigdor Feldman, a lawyer who met the man dubbed "Prisoner X" shortly before his death, told The Associated Press on Thursday.
The sensational saga has dominated public discourse in Israel since it was first reported by Australia's public broadcaster on Tuesday. According to the report, an Australian-born Israeli man, Ben Zygier, who worked for Israel's Mossad spy agency was mysteriously imprisoned by Israel in 2010 and hanged himself several months later in a maximum-security cell. Zygier also used the names Ben Alon and Ben Allen, the report said.
Despite a whirlwind of foreign media reports easily accessible on the Internet, Israel maintained a gag order on the case for 24 hours. Late Wednesday, Israel acknowledged parts of the story, saying it had held a dual Israeli citizen under a false name for security reasons, and that he died in prison in 2010 from an apparent suicide.
The Israeli announcement did not identify the man and left key questions unanswered: What crime was Zygier accused of? Why was he confined to severe isolation? How did he commit suicide when he was under 24-hour surveillance? And why was the case hidden from the public for more than two years, even after it was reported in Australia?
"Israel is not Soviet Russia, Argentina or China, but a democracy bound to its citizens' human rights and that enables freedom of expression and publication," the liberal daily Haaretz wrote Thursday in an editorial. "The state's security must be protected, but not with totalitarian methods."
An Israeli court order, identifying the man only as John Doe, stressed that the prisoner's rights were respected, even if the case was kept out of the public eye. It said he was detained by court order and that his family was notified immediately afterward and kept up to date on all developments in the case. A thorough investigation concluded that he committed suicide in his cell, and the court named three Israeli lawyers who represented him.
What Zygier actually did remains a mystery, but various media reports have suggested that he used his Australian passport, perhaps under different names, to conduct covert operations for the Mossad. It appears that Australian authorities might have grown suspicious.
Feldman, one of Israel's most prominent defense attorneys, took part in the case, and said he visited Zygier just a day or two before the suicide.
Feldman told AP that Zygier denied the allegations being made against him and was considering a plea bargain at the time. Refusing to elaborate about the specific allegations against Zygier, he said the prisoner was rational and showed no signs of being suicidal.
"When I heard about it, I was shocked and amazed," he said, adding that his isolated conditions were excessively harsh and might have contributed to his suicide. "He was very adamant to fight his innocence in court. ... I remember very clearly that he claimed again and again that he was innocent and the feeling that he was pushed to admit something that he did not do."
Israel's Channel 10 said that in 2009 Australian intelligence officers interrogated Zygier about trips he took to Iran, Lebanon and Syria. The report alleged that the case was leaked to an Australian reporter who phoned Zygier and questioned him about his alleged links to the Mossad. The reporter, Jason Katsoukis, told Israel's Channel 2 TV that Zygier strongly denied the allegations. Zygier was arrested shortly after they spoke.
Australia's Brisbane Times reported that he was arrested by Israeli authorities shortly before he was about to reveal sensitive intelligence about Israel's use of foreign passports. Israeli TV has speculated that Zygier was imprisoned after committing some kind of act of treason.
The various reports, and Israel's attempts to stifle the case, have raised tough questions about the country's democracy at a time when it has to combat tough security challenges. It also is raising questions about whether Israel's system of censoring sensitive information or imposing gag orders is relevant in the Internet age.
"The fact that all information about him was secluded from the public and the public didn't know is something which the Israeli democracy failed to adapt," Feldman said. "The fact that the issue was published and people know about it ... shows that people are not taking into consideration that we are not in the 50s."
Dan Yakir, the chief legal counsel of the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, said the prisoner's rights do not appear to have been violated and he had adequate legal representation, but that "the authorities shot themselves in the foot here by insisting on such an unusual gag order."
He said that in the balance between the public's right to know and national security, Israel has always leaned toward protecting security. "Without a doubt, the power is disproportionately on the side of the state and there is a fear that they can take advantage of this power," Yakir said.
Amos Regev, the editor-in-chief of the Israel Hayom daily, which is closely allied to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said the government had handled the case properly.
"Does the public's right to know require us to set a spotlight on each action of an agent, spy or fighter, who endanger their lives so we can live in peace?" he asked. "The fact that he (Zygier) was arrested, and secretly, does not harm democracy. It is one of the instruments used by the democracy to protect itself."
But Zehava Galon, leader of the dovish opposition party, Meretz, said she hoped this episode would mark a turning point. Galon was one of three lawmakers who used their parliamentary immunity to speak about the issue on Tuesday, before the gag order was lifted.
"The concept that everything must be subjugated before 'security needs' is unacceptable to me," she said in an interview. "How is it that people can know about it there (in Australia) and they can't know about it here?"
"I'm guessing that the next time the Mossad leaders ask for a gag order they will think twice about it."

Sarah Palin And Al Jazeera? When Agendas And Journalism Collide

In days gone by, journalists were not in the business of creating the news, but of reporting it. If they heard a story, they would investigate it and then report their findings. There was no agenda.
Today, as we know, is much different. Today we have supposed journalists working to advance the agenda of one group of people–Democrats. And they usually go on to win awards for their corrupt reports.
Dan Rather is one journalist who deserved what he got: a prolific career tarnished and terminated over his fantasy that the Killian documents, which were critical of President George W. Bush’s service in the Air National Guard, were authentic. When it turned out that they were forgeries, he said that it didn’t matter because the story was still probably real even if the documents that told the story were not. Still, to this day, he defends himself by saying that nobody ever proved that the documents were a forgery.
On February 4, The Daily Currant published a story that former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, after being recently being dropped from Fox News, will be joining Al Jazeera, the terrorist-supporting news network. (This would be the same Al Jazeera that is funded in part by the oil and natural-gas companies of Qatar, and to which Al Gore hypocritically sold his TV network.)
Note that The Daily Currant is a self-acknowledged satire website, with such headlines as “Vladimir Putin Kills Grizzly Bear With Bare Hands” and “Catholic Church Considering Jerry Sandusky as Next Pope.”
On Tuesday, The Washington Post reported as fact the Daily Currant story about Sarah Palin and her joining Al Jazeera. It was written by Staff Nincompoop Suzi Parker. I can only speculate as to what her motives were in reporting the Palin-Al-Jazeera story, and speculate I will:
Suzi Parker, being a liberal, has a pathological animus toward Sarah Palin. Parker saw a headline and a story that, like Dan Rather almost a decade ago, she so desperately wished to be true that she dropped whatever common sense she may have had and ran with the story as if it were true. Fantasy trumps reality in Liberal Land. And if there is any justice over at The Washington Post, Ms. Parker will walk the path of Dan Rather for her egregious reporting.
The lead sentence to Parker’s story is, “The Sarah Palin Story is a cautionary tale about what can happen when politics and celebrity meet.”
The Suzi Parker Story is a cautionary tale about what can happen when political agendas meet journalism.

Abuse Victims Ask Court to Prosecute the Vatican

Human rights lawyers and victims of clergy sexual abuse filed a complaint on Tuesday urging the International Criminal Court in The Hague to investigate and prosecute Pope Benedict XVI and three top Vatican officials for crimes against humanity for what they described as abetting and covering up the rape and sexual assault of children by priests.

The formal filing of nearly 80 pages by two American advocacy groups, the Center for Constitutional Rights and the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, was the most substantive effort yet to hold the pope and the Vatican accountable in an international court for sexual abuse by priests.
“The high-level officials of the Catholic church who failed to prevent and punish these criminal actions,” the complaint says, “have, to date, enjoyed absolute impunity.”
A spokeswoman at the court said the prosecutor’s office would examine the papers, “as we do with all such communications.” The first step will be “to analyze whether the alleged crimes fall under the court’s jurisdiction,” Florence Olara, the prosecutor’s spokeswoman said.
Complaints about the Vatican and child abuse by Roman Catholic priests have been received at the court before, court records showed. But Ms. Olara said details were not normally disclosed by the court unless a case went forward.
Lawyers familiar with the international court said it was unlikely the complaint against the Vatican would fit the court’s mandate to prosecute war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. The Rev. Federico Lombardi, the spokesman for the Vatican, said he had no comment.
Vatican officials have often said that the decisions about priests accused of abuse are made by bishops — not by the Vatican hierarchy — and that the church is far more decentralized than is widely believed.
But the lawyers and abuse victims from the United States and Europe who held a news conference at the court on Tuesday said their action was necessary because all the investigations and prosecutions of sexual abuse by Catholic priests in various countries had not been sufficient to prevent continuing crimes and cover-ups.
Two of the victims whose cases are highlighted in the filing say the priests who sexually abused them simply moved to different countries and are still in ministry working with children, with the knowledge of church superiors. “National jurisdictions can’t really get their arms around this,” said Pamela Spees, a lawyer with the Center for Constitutional Rights, who helped prepare the filing. “Prosecuting individual instances of child molestation or sexual assault has not gotten at the larger systemic problem here. Accountability is the goal, and the I.C.C. makes the most sense, given that it’s a global problem.”
In addition to Pope Benedict XVI, the filing asks the court to prosecute Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, the Vatican’s secretary of state; Cardinal Angelo Sodano, the previous secretary of state and the current dean of the College of Cardinals; and Cardinal William J. Levada, who is head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the Vatican office designated to receive cases of clergy sexual abuse that are forwarded by bishops.
A central question is whether the accusations will fit the court’s mandate. The International Criminal Court has jurisdiction over war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide committed after July 1, 2002, when the court opened. It is independent of the United Nations and has jurisdiction in the 117 countries that so far have ratified the Rome Statute that created the court. Italy, Germany and Belgium are signatories, while the Vatican and the United States are not.
The filing cites five cases in which priests have been accused of abuse in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the United States; the priests in these cases are from Belgium, India and the United States.
Ms. Spees said she hoped to persuade the court that the cases were within its jurisdiction, because they involve abuses that she said were “systematic and widespread.”
Experts in international law said the sexual abuse of minors by Roman Catholic priests was sufficiently heinous and widespread to be taken to the court.
Mark Ellis, executive director of the International Bar Association, which is based in London, said he thought that the court would open a preliminary investigation to determine whether it has jurisdiction — and that it would probably conclude that it did not.
“Crimes against humanity means acts that are committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against a civilian population,” Mr. Ellis said. “What you’re looking at is really a policy, in which the government or the authorities are planning the attack.”
“When you look at the concept of why and how the I.C.C. was created, I just don’t think this fits,” he said. “But the filing does something that’s important. It raises awareness.”

The ITCCS Central Office in Brussels is compelled by Pope Benedict's sudden abdication to disclose the following details:

1. On Friday, February 1, 2013, on the basis of evidence supplied by our affiliated Common Law Court of Justice (itccs.org), our Office concluded an agreement with representatives of a European nation and its courts to secure an arrest warrant against Joseph Ratzinger, aka Pope Benedict, for crimes against humanity and ordering a criminal conspiracy.

2. This arrest warrant was to be delivered to the office of the "Holy See" in Rome on Friday, February 15, 2013. It allowed the nation in question to detain Ratzinger as a suspect in a crime if he entered its sovereign territory.


3. A diplomatic note was issued by the said nation's government to the Vatican's Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, on Monday, February 4, 2013, informing Bertone of the impending arrest warrant and inviting his office to comply. No reply to this note was received from Cardinal Bertone or his office; but six days later, Pope Benedict resigned.

4. The agreement between our Tribunal and the said nation included a second provision to issue a commercial lien through that nation's courts against the property and wealth of the Roman Catholic church commencing on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. This lien was to be accompanied by a public and global "Easter Reclamation Campaign" whereby Catholic church property was to be occupied and claimed by citizens as public assets forfeited under international law and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

5. It is the decision of our Tribunal and the said nation's government to proceed with the arrest of Joseph Ratzinger upon his vacating the office of the Roman Pontiff on a charge of crimes against humanity and criminal conspiracy.

6. It is our further decision to proceed as well with the indictment and arrest of Joseph Ratzinger's successor as Pope on the same charges; and to enforce the commercial lien and "Easter Reclamation Campaign" against the Roman Catholic church, as planned.

In closing, our Tribunal acknowledges that Pope Benedict's complicity in criminal activities of the Vatican Bank (IOR) was compelling his eventual dismissal by the highest officials of the Vatican. But according to our sources, Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone forced Joseph Ratzinger's resignation immediately, and in direct response to the diplomatic note concerning the arrest warrant that was issued to him by the said nation's government on February 4, 2013.

We call upon all citizens and governments to assist our efforts to legally and directly disestablish the Vatican, Inc. and arrest its chief officers and clergy who are complicit in crimes against humanity and the ongoing criminal conspiracy to aid and protect child torture and trafficking.

Pilgrims and tourists visiting the Vatican received a special treat Saturday, when some 4,000 members of the Knights of Malta marched in procession to the tomb of St. Peter.
The last of the great chivalrous orders is celebrating the 900th anniversary of its official recognition by Pope Paschal II. On Saturday, the Knights attended Mass in St. Peter's Basilica and received an audience with Pope Benedict XVI.
The Knights of Malta is also known as the Sovereign Military Order of St. John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta.
The order's mission is humility and charity; its 13,500 members — Knights and Dames — trace their origins to warrior friars.
The order started in the 11th century, with the creation of an infirmary in Jerusalem that cared for people making pilgrimages to the Holy Land during the Crusades.
Like the Knights Templars, the Knights of Malta used religious intensity and military force to defend Christendom from the advance of Islam.
When Jerusalem was conquered by Muslims, the order made its base first on Cyprus, then Rhodes, and then Malta. It finally made its home in Rome after Napoleon expelled the order from Malta in 1798.
The order is sovereign. It prints its own stamps, coins, license plates and passports, but it has no territory. Today, it has become an international humanitarian organization with nearly 100,000 doctors, nurses and volunteers worldwide.
Based in Rome, the order is now focusing on its home continent, opening shelters and soup kitchens in Europe, where the number of jobless and homeless is growing in the worst recession since World War II.
Syria is also a priority for the order, which has stepped up relief assistance to help victims of that conflict. The Knights of Malta operates in Damascus, Aleppo, Hama, and Homs, and assists Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Turkey.

The Beatty family connects in with the Illuminati families also by the way. LaVey worked for several circuses and learned how to be a showman. He worked the occult sideshows of the circus, and found that people wanted to believe occult frauds. Anton LaVey found Marilyn Monroe, a Jewish girl, working as a striptease in the strip clubs. LaVey helped her performance, and through his connections got her started on her big career. LaVey used his talent of showmanship to create a type of Satanism that could be marketed to the public. LaVey always manages to walk a tight-rope between openly supporting hard-core Satanic practices such as human sacrifice and being just simply theatrics. In other words, he blatantly supports enough evil to attract evil people, but he publicly never allows himself to be connected in any way with child molestation, human sacrifice, etc. Anton LaVey was into Satanism before the 1960’s, but it was not until 1966 that he founded the Church of Satan. Some hard core Satanists feel he is "all show," other hard core Satanists form covens and try to serve Anton LaVey, because they view him as a role model. The Illuminati set up their headquarters in Southern California this century.
Early Church Writings on the Last Days
Up until the last 180 years the Church has taught and preached that the Antichrist will come and persecute the Church during the Great Tribulation and then Christ will return at the end of the age, resurrect the Church - raise the dead and rapture those who are alive and left.
As you will see from the following quotes representative of the first 19 centuries of church writings, a Post-Tribulation view was the common view. They believed the clear teachings of Scripture, that the Church would face the Antichrist and go through the Great Tribulation before Christ returned. Read these examples and see for yourself.

Beginning in about 1832 a new teaching and theology began to creep into the churches. One of the first to teach this view was John Nelson Darby, the father of modern Dispensationalism. His theology was later picked up by C. I. Scofield and popularized in The Scofield Study Bible. Several evangelical schools adopted the Dispensational Theology and began to teach it and incorporate it into their doctrinal positions. Many wrote and taught versions of Dispensationalism, but the most popular idea promoted by this theology was a Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church. This idea is very appealing because it teaches that the Church will not have to face the tribulation of the last seven-year period prophesied in Daniel 9:27. Many authors and teachers have become incredibly popular promoting the idea of a Pre-Tribulation escape for the Church and have been able to sell millions of books. Today in Christian bookstores the most popular end times books, whether theological or fictional, promote this new teaching of a Pre-Tribulation Rapture. There have even been feature length motion pictures released promoting this new doctrine.
The original and true teaching of Scripture is now maintained by a relatively small remnant of believers. They continue to hold to the clear statements of Scripture regarding the return of Christ. The Bible states that the resurrection of all believers will take place after the Antichrist when Christ returns to establish His Kingdom on the Day of the Lord.




The chief temptation for Christians in the 1st century, and today, is to fail to hold fast to the non-violent teachings and example of Jesus and instead be lured into unquestioning adoption and assimilation of worldly, national or cultural values - imperialism, nationalism, and civil religion being the most dangerous and insidious.
