SO AFTER ‘MAY 21ST RAPTURE’, THE END WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HERE ON 10/21/11:

Preacher now says end of the world will happen in 5 months

By Kim Hutcherson and Dan Gilgoff, CNN
(CNN) – Harold Camping is sticking to his apocalyptic guns.
In his first radio broadcast since his doomsday prediction failed to pan out in a spectacularly public fashion, the California preacher insisted his was an error of interpretation, not fact.
What's more, he has another calculation for the day the world will end - October 21, 2011.
Camping had kept a low-profile since Saturday, the day he had forecast for the return of Jesus Christ to Earth. He and his devoted followers have been warning for months that on May 21, a select 2% to 3% of the world's population would be taken to heaven. Those left behind would face months of tribulation before perishing in the Earth's destruction, which Camping said would happen on October 21.
This is the basis for his new prediction, which Camping claims is not new at all. He told listeners on his Family Radio broadcast Monday that God is "loving and merciful," and had decided not to punish the humanity with five months of destruction.
But he maintains that the end of the world is still coming.
"We've always said October 21 was the day," Camping said during his show. "The only thing we didn't understand was the spirituality of May 21. We're seeing this as a spiritual thing happening rather than a physical thing happening. The timing, the structure, the proofs, none of that has changed at all."
However, Camping said his group would not be mounting another advertising push. In the months leading up to May 21, Family Radio billboards popped up across the country, warning that the end was near.
"We're not going to be passing out tracts," Camping said. "We're not going to put up any more billboards. We're not going to be advertising in any way. The world has been warned. We did our little share and the media picked it up. But now the world has been told, it's under judgment."
Fred Store, who led one of four RV caravans that toured the country in recent months to spread the word about judgment day, said he and other followers heard Camping's broadcast "and we were quite happy - it will be interesting to see what the next couple of months will bring."
"It appears as though this whole [rapture] thing happened in a spiritual, rather than a physical way," said Store, 66. The retired electrician said that he and the other nine members of his five-RV caravan were still at an RV park where they waited for the rapture to arrive on Saturday.
He said the park was within 100 miles of Boston, Massachusetts, but didn't want to disclose the specific location. He said the caravan was waiting for word from Camping's ministry, Family Radio, about arranging the return of the vehicles to the broadcaster's Oakland, California, headquarters.
Store said he and the others in his caravan were not disappointed that the dramatic events associated with the rapture had not come to pass.
"We think that judgment day did happen," he said. "It didn’t result in an earthquake, and there were a number of things that weren't exactly the way we said they would be, but we were only reading from the Bible.  We’ve been humbled by the whole experience."
Camping founded Family Radio, a nonprofit Christian radio network with about 65 stations across the country, in 1958. It received $80 million in contributions between 2005 and 2009.
He first inaccurately predicted the world would end in 1994. Despite his poor track record, he has gathered many followers. Some gave up their homes, entire life savings and jobs because they believed the world was ending.
Reporters who were allowed to ask questions during the broadcast Monday pressed Camping on this issue, but he would not admit that he bore any blame for his followers' predicaments.
"I don't have any responsibility," Camping said. "I'm only teaching the Bible. I'm telling ... this is what the Bible says. I don't have spiritual rule over anybody ... except my wife as the head of the household."

Experts in apocalyptic movements said that reinterpretations like Camping's are not uncommon in the wake of failed doomsday predictions.
“Historically, failed prophecies tend to result in disillusionment, with members deserting the group, or, more typically, a faith-saving (and face-saving) statement to the effect that while divine revelation remains infallible, human calculation is not,” said Lorenzo DiTommaso, author of the forthcoming book “The Architecture of Apocalypticism” and an associate professor of religion at Concordia University in Montréal, Canada.
“In short: The math was off, and it’s back to the drawing board,” he said. “If the logic seems a bit self-serving, recall that in the apocalyptic mindset, faith precedes theory, and theory informs the evidence."

The Mayan Calendar and Politics

By: Brooks A. Mick
Some people have fretted, suffering high anxiety, because the Mayan calender supposedly shows the world ending on December 21, 2012. Well, 2012 is finally here. I do not expect that the world will end, or even that mankind will be extinguished, in 2012. But I do worry that the end of modern western civilization will occur this year. The problem is that we have reached what some economists have called debt saturation, a situation where essentially all the money in the world is debt. Countries pay bills by borrowing from other countries which loan the money by borrowing it from another country, ad infinitum. The European Union is bailing out Greece, but meanwhile France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and other countries are massively indebted, having been spending more than they have taken in for years.
They used to count on the USA riding to the rescue, handing out bushels of dollars, but the USA had spent itself very close to debt saturation by 2008, and by 2009 Obama had pushed us over the economic Niagra Falls in a barrel and we also reached debt saturation. What debt saturation means is that the more the government spends in deficit financing, the WORSE the economy gets. This is the precise opposite of what John Maynard Keynes thought would happen. Keynesian economists, however, are incapable of learning, suffering from econo-Alzheimer’s disease, and thus continue to preach that the government should spend more.
Beyond debt saturation, plummeting down from the sky like a giant asteroid, smaller meteors have already begun impacting the economy.
1) Layer upon layer of federal (not to mention state, county, and city) regulations creating business expense chaos.
2) Taxes or threats of taxes causing businesses to seek shelter in economic bunkers rather than venture out and begin growing and hiring.
3) Executive orders putting our oil drilling offshore and in ANWR on hold, thus helping drive up energy costs and making us more dependent upon enemy states such as Saudi Arabia and Venezuela for oil. In effect, by preventing our own oil exploration and usage, we are funding terrorism directed against us.
4) Blocking the Keystone Pipeline deal, which prevents our obtaining oil from a friendly country, Canada, which risks angering the Canadian government, and which prevents job growth.
5) Pulling out of Iraq too precipitously, which makes that country less likely to be our friend, less likely to sell us oil, and more vulnerable to incremental encroachment by Iran, which would further raise energy prices and increase the risk of terrorism.
6) EPA regulations which are resulting in the shutting down of 72 coal-fired electricity generating plants. (Where did the greenies expect the electricity for their Volts and Leafs to come from, anyway?)
7) Our education system has become so warped that few voting citizens understand sufficient economics to know when their politicians are promising them nonexistent, unobtainable pie-in-the-sky and will vote irrationally based out on political propaganda.
Several questions come to mind:
A) Is Obama the disaster the Mayan calendar predicted?
B) Is Obama a rigid ideologue, incompetent, or deliberately provoking economic and political disaster?
C) Is there still time to save the USA and the world?
And one last thing: Whoever is the Republican elected president, and whoever those Republican senators and congressmen are who are elected in 2012, they BETTER START GRASPING REALITY AND DOING THE RIGHT THINGS NOW, for this may be the last chance of mankind. Otherwise, we are surely headed for a Second Dark Ages with no clear hope that a Second Renaissance will be possible.

Trees in dead of winter show Spring shoots:Aja Brooks
Is it: prophecy or climate change? You decide! This is the second time in a quarter of a century I have seen this tree bud in the dead of Winter, as if it were Spring, because of the unusual weather...

Matthew 24

Jesus Speaks of the Destruction of the Temple

1 Jesus left and was going away from the Temple when his disciples came to him to call his attention to its buildings.2
Yes, he said,
you may well look at all these. I tell you this: not a single stone here will be left in its place; every one of them will be thrown down.
Troubles and Persecutions(; )

3 As Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him in private.
Tell us when all this will be, they asked,
and what will happen to show that it is the time for your coming and the end of the age.
4 Jesus answered,
Watch out, and do not let anyone fool you.5 Many men, claiming to speak for me, will come and say,
I am the Messiah! and they will fool many people.6 You are going to hear the noise of battles close by and the news of battles far away; but do not be troubled. Such things must happen, but they do not mean that the end has come.7 Countries will fight each other; kingdoms will attack one another. There will be famines and earthquakes everywhere.8 All these things are like the first pains of childbirth.

9 Then you will be arrested and handed over to be punished and be put to death. Everyone will hate you because of me.10 Many will give up their faith at that time; they will betray one another and hate one another.11 Then many false prophets will appear and fool many people.12 Such will be the spread of evil that many people's love will grow cold.13 But whoever holds out to the end will be saved.14 And this Good News about the Kingdom will be preached through all the world for a witness to all people; and then the end will come.

The Awful Horror(; )

15
You will see
The Awful Horror of which the prophet Daniel spoke. It will be standing in the holy place. (Note to the reader: understand what this means!)16 Then those who are in Judea must run away to the hills.17 Someone who is on the roof of a house must not take the time to go down and get any belongings from the house.18 Someone who is in the field must not go back to get a cloak.19 How terrible it will be in those days for women who are pregnant and for mothers with little babies!20 Pray to God that you will not have to run away during the winter or on a Sabbath!21 For the trouble at that time will be far more terrible than any there has ever been, from the beginning of the world to this very day. Nor will there ever be anything like it again.22 But God has already reduced the number of days; had he not done so, nobody would survive. For the sake of his chosen people, however, God will reduce the days.
23 Then, if anyone says to you,
Look, here is the Messiah! or
There he is!'—do not believe it.24 For false Messiahs and false prophets will appear; they will perform great miracles and wonders in order to deceive even God's chosen people, if possible.25 Listen! I have told you this ahead of time.

26 Or, if people should tell you,
Look, he is out in the desert!—don't go there; or if they say, Look, he is hiding here!'—don't believe it.27 For the Son of Man will come like the lightning which flashes across the whole sky from the east to the west.

28 Wherever there is a dead body, the vultures will gather.

The Coming of the Son of Man(; )

29 Soon after the trouble of those days, the sun will grow dark, the moon will no longer shine, the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers in space will be driven from their courses.30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky; and all the peoples of earth will weep as they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.31 The great trumpet will sound, and he will send out his angels to the four corners of the earth, and they will gather his chosen people from one end of the world to the other.
The Lesson of the Fig Tree(; )

32 Let the fig tree teach you a lesson. When its branches become green and tender and it starts putting out leaves, you know that summer is near.33 In the same way, when you see all these things, you will know that the time is near, ready to begin.[a]34 Remember that all these things will happen before the people now living have all died.35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
No One Knows the Day and Hour(; , )

36 No one knows, however, when that day and hour will come—neither the angels in heaven nor the Son;[b] the Father alone knows.37 The coming of the Son of Man will be like what happened in the time of Noah.38 In the days before the flood people ate and drank, men and women married, up to the very day Noah went into the boat;39 yet they did not realize what was happening until the flood came and swept them all away. That is how it will be when the Son of Man comes.40 At that time two men will be working in a field: one will be taken away, the other will be left behind.41 Two women will be at a mill grinding meal: one will be taken away, the other will be left behind.42 Watch out, then, because you do not know what day your Lord will come.43 If the owner of a house knew the time when the thief would come, you can be sure that he would stay awake and not let the thief break into his house.44 So then, you also must always be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you are not expecting him.
The Faithful or the Unfaithful Servant()

45 Who, then, is a faithful and wise servant? It is the one that his master has placed in charge of the other servants to give them their food at the proper time.46 How happy that servant is if his master finds him doing this when he comes home!47 Indeed, I tell you, the master will put that servant in charge of all his property.48 But if he is a bad servant, he will tell himself that his master will not come back for a long time,49 and he will begin to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.50 Then that servant's master will come back one day when the servant does not expect him and at a time he does not know.51 The master will cut him in pieces[c] and make him share the fate of the hypocrites. There he will cry and gnash his teeth.

Reflections of Joplin Present at Annual Governor's Prayer Breakfast

By: Tim Sampson, Missouri News Horizon
Updated: January 5, 2012
(Jefferson City, MO) -- Ostensibly, the annual Missouri Governor's prayer breakfast has always been about seeking divine guidance and spiritual communion for state lawmakers at the start of the legislative session.
But this year, the devastation of the Joplin tornado cast a shadow over the event - serving as a reminder of what really matters in life.
"We were reminded that the power of faith and the power of prayer, two spiritual forces that have helped bring our country and our state through turbulent times in the past and will always do so," Gov. Jay Nixon told a crowed of lawmakers and government officials. "That was especially true on the night of May 22 and the days and weeks and months that followed."
For 50 years, the Prayer Breakfast has served as a ceremonial demonstration of fellowship among elected officials in Jefferson Citybefore the pressures of crafting a budget and passing legislation give way to heated and sometimes acrimonious debate.
Nixon was joined by a number of lawmakers from the House and Senate who read Bible passages. A keynote address was delivered byJoplin area Pastor Randy Gariss, who led the memorial ceremony in the days following the Joplin tornado - back when the total number of dead was still unknown.
With a mix of folksy anecdotes and fiery calls to action, Gariss implored lawmakers to remember the lessons of Joplin and follow the example set by the thousands of volunteers who came from around the state and country after the tornado to lend a helping hand and who still work rebuilding homes and families.
"We know intuitively, something beyond biology is what life is about," he said. "And in the big issues of a storm, clarity about life and the big issues of life come."

@BarackObama Socialist Pig you are, you ARE NOT THE MAHDI !!!!!!

THIS IS SERIOUS FOLKS.... OBAMA HAS LAID CLAIM TO ISLAMIC PROPHECY FOR VOTES... DECLARING HIMSELF THE MAHDI, WITH THE FULL MOON SYMBOL. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON’T KNOW, THE MAHDI IS LIKE THE HIGH COMMANDER OF JESUS’ HEAVENLY ARMY, OR WHO MUSLIMS BELIEVE TO BE THE MESSIAH, AS THEY THOUGHT JESUS WAS JUST A PROPHET. JEWS BELIEVED JESUS WAS JUST A PROPHET, AND THEY ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE MESSIAH TOO. OBAMA HAS MANIPULATED MUSLIMS, WHO THINK THE MESSIAH/SUCCESSORSHIP IS THAT OF A POLITICAL OFFICE:

First school of thought

The mahdi is frequently mentioned in Sunni hadiths as establishing the caliphate. Among Sunnis, some believe the Mahdi will be an ordinary man, born to an ordinary woman.
  • The Prophet Muhammad said:

The world will not come to an end until the Arabs are ruled by a man from my family whose name is the same as mine and whose father’s name is the same as my father’s.[6]
His [the Mahdi's] aim is to establish a moral system from which all superstitious faiths have been eliminated. In the same way that students enter Islam, so unbelievers will come to believe.[7]
When the Mahdi appears, God will cause such power of vision and hearing to be manifested in believers that the Mahdi will call to the whole world from where he is, with no postman involved, and they will hear and even see him.[8]
I heard the Messenger of God say: "The Mahdi is of my lineage and family […]".[9]
The Messenger of God said: "He is one of us […]"[10]
The Messenger of God said: "The Mahdi is of my lineage, with a high forehead and a long, thin, curved nose. He will fill the earth with fairness and justice as it was filled with oppression and injustice, and he will rule for seven years.[11]
The Messenger of God said: "At the end of the time of my ummah, the Mahdi will appear. God will grant him rain, the earth will bring forth its fruits, he will give a lot of money, cattle will increase and the ummah will become great. He will rule for seven or eight years.[12]
A typical modernist in his views on the Mahdi, Abul Ala Maududi (1903–1979), the Pakistani Islamic revivalist, stated that the Mahdi will be a modern Islamic reformer/statesman, who will unite the Ummah and revolutionise the world according to the ideology of Islam, but will never claim to be the Mahdi, instead receiving posthumous recognition as such.[13]
The Master of the Command was named as the Mahdi because he will dig out the Torah and other heavenly books from the cave in Antioch. He will judge among the people of the Torah according to the Torah; among the people of the Gospel according to the Gospel; among the people of the Psalms in accordance with the Psalms; among the people of the Qur'an in accordance with the Qur'an.
Ja'far al-Sadiq, the Sixth Imam, made the following prophecies:
Abu Bashir says: When I asked Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq, "O son of the Messenger of God! Who is the Mahdi (qa'im) of your clan (ahl al-bayt)?", he replied: "The Mahdi will conquer the world; at that time the world will be illuminated by the light of God, and everywere in which those other than God are worshipped will become places where God is worshiped; and even if thepolytheists do not wish it, the only faith on that day will be the religion of God.[27]
Sadir al-Sayrafi says: I heard from Imam Abu Abdullah Ja'far al-Sadiq that: Our modest Imam, to whom this occultation belongs [the Mahdi], who is deprived of and denied his rights, will move among them and wander through their markets and walk where they walk, but they will not recognize him.[28]
Abu Bashir says: I heard Imam Muhammad al-Baqr say: "He said: When the Mahdi appears he will follow in the path of the Messenger of God. Only he [the Mahdi] can explain the works of the Messenger of God.[29]
The face of the Mahdi shall shine upon the surface of the Moon.[30]

There is something about Obama not showing up to the memorial that makes me so mad, I want to grind him to a bloody pulp with my hands. Maybe it’s because he gave us this speech full of hypocrisy about how we are supposed to end divisive exchange, and that was to blame for this tragedy. The actions of one do not reflect the actions of many, and Obama lobbied ABC and the Huffington Post to spread libel and slander about Sarah Palin.
Recently, Diane Sawyer revived the dregs about Sarah Palin’s use of free speech, target sights, and 2nd amendment rights, editorializing a nightly segment blaming the Tea Party. The Tea Party has always had an Oath of non-violence. I can’t say the same for the Occupy Insurrection, as there was a man who shot at Obama’s window. Obama was not there at the time, and while we agree with his anger, we do not believe killing Obama will solve our problems as a Nation.

I want to see Obama suffer: I want to see him publicly humiliated for embarrassing and shaming the United States with his political aspirations and disrespecting Islam. I would be just pissed as Ahmedinejad is, if Obama took to wearing Native American dress claiming he was the white buffalo calf, as a mixed half-breed, no less.

I guess what he says isn’t a two way street.... that down is up and up is down, the sky is not blue and the moon is Obama....

The attorney who founded Judicial Watch, became a thorn in the side of presidents in court including Bill Clinton, inspired a “West Wing” character and was the first lawyer to obtain a court ruling that a president committed a crime has filed a request with the U.S. Supreme Court that Elena Kagan either remove herself or be removed from the Obamacare case.
The friend-of-the-court brief in cases demanding the “recusal or disqualification of Justice Elena Kagan” was filed today by Larry Klayman, now of Freedom Watch USA.
Klayman, known for tackling corruption in the nation’s capital, recently was awarded a default judgment in a case brought against Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on behalf of victims of his government’s torture campaign. Damages have yet to be established, but estimates are it could surpass the hundreds of millions.
Kagan has been facing criticism for her apparent decision to participate in the Obamacare case, which is to be argued in coming weeks, because she served Obama as solicitor general when the law was being developed. Emails indicate she was rooting for it, and she may even have strategized on how to defend it in court.
Klayman’s request comes in the case National Federal of Independent Business et al. vs. Kathleen Sebelius, as well as Florida et al. v. Department of Health and Human Services.
Sign the petition opposing Obamacare.
The rulings at the lower level determined Obama could not constitutionally demand that every American buy the health insurance program that the government specifies – a key requirement for his Obamacare nationalization of health care to succeed. Obama’s Department of Justice appealed.
Klayman’s brief says his organization is “dedicated to preserving freedom, pursuing individual rights and civil liberties, while fighting for ethics in government and the judicial system.”
Obamacare, he says, “is seeking to intrude into citizens’ rights, regulating private and intimate aspects of an individual’s life without regard to the Constitution. In doing so, the government is expanding the scope of its limited and enumerated powers to a level never before seen.”
Noting that a majority of Americans oppose Obamacare, he says his organization “seeks to provide the means and mechanism to protect American citizens’ rights.”
Toward that goal, he writes, he is seeking “the recusal, and, if necessary, disqualification of Justice Elena Kagan in the decision of the constitutionality of [Obamacare].”2012_TeaParty Tea Party Chief

EDITORIAL: Obama and dictatorship

Sorry, defense authorization isn’t opening the door to a liberal police state

Can a mundane defense authorization law create an Obama dictatorship? Many people on the political right and left have been alarmed by language in the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that they argue authorizes the president to use military force to capture, detain, torture and kill Americans at home and abroad. The furor centers on Sections 1021 and 1022 of the law, which deal with detaining terrorist suspects. Specifically at issue is to what extent the law allows the government to treat American citizens like enemies of the state.
This dust-up is thick with irony, given that the Obama White House has gone out of its way to extend full constitutional protections to terrorists who have never set foot on U.S. soil. At the same time, President Obama has claimed the right to target Americans with deadly force overseas, though his legal team refuses to explain the basis for this extraordinary and unconstitutional power. The NDAA itself states that nothing in it changes existing law, but because Americans are not allowed to know what powers the president already has, such guarantees ring hollow.
All dramatics aside, no matter what the murky NDAA says or means, it cannot strip Americans of their constitutional rights. Chief Justice John Marshall laid out this logical principle in the 1803 case of Marbury v. Madison, which established the standard of judicial review. He wrote that if a law conflicts with a rule or right under the Constitution, “the Constitution is superior to any ordinary act of the Legislature, [therefore] the Constitution, and not such ordinary act, must govern the case to which they both apply.” This is a bedrock principle of American politics. Even if the most expansive reading of the defense authorization is correct and it does represent some kind of White House power grab, it doesn’t matter, because any such provision negating rights held by citizens would be struck down as unconstitutional once it was adjudicated.
There also is the matter of the law’s political context. Those who argue that the NDAA is some kind of enabling act for an impending Obama imperium must also explain how such a bill was passed by a divided Congress, particularly the conservative Republican-controlled House. If control was Mr. Obama’s objective, it would have been more sensible to craft the legislation during the two years when San Francisco Rep. Nancy Pelosi was speaker of the House, Democrats enjoyed a supermajority in the Senate and Mr. Obama was not so unpopular. He could have used those purported extraordinary powers to head off the “shellacking” he took during the 2010 midterm elections, assuming he thought he could get away with it.
The true test of the NDAA would be if Mr. Obama attempted to do what some people fear he might do, namely, begin a vendetta against his political opponents or others he wants to deal with “Chicago style.” But should we honestly believe Mr. Obama will soon order mass arrests and detentions of peaceful American citizens? That members of the military would carry out such orders, which go against all other laws and customs and the Constitution? That such actions would not be met with a flood of court cases, mass demonstrations, civil disobedience and active resistance? And all this would happen in an election year? It will take more than a scrap of paper to end freedom in America.

The group, calling itself Americans Elect, or AE, seems designed to appear like a massive, grassroots effort involving millions of citizens acting to draft a third party candidate.
However, the organization’s voting process has been called into question and there also are concerns AE’s bylaws may allow the group’s own board members to bypass votes and nominate their own candidate.
AE describes itself as “a non-partisan, non-profit organization founded by Americans from across the political spectrum who are worried that our nation’s deep political divisions keep big problems from being solved.”
AE seeks to hold its own nominating convention on the Internet this June to select an independent presidential and vice-presidential candidate. The group says any registered voter can sign up to participate in the June convention.
AE reportedly has raised more than $22 million so far and already has been certified to be placed on the ballot in 12 states now, including California.
To get on state ballots, AE evidenced mass organizing skills. The group says it collected over two million signatures nationwide in its effort to get on state ballots.
WND found that two of AE’s board members, Kellen Arno and Michael Arno, were paid by the group for helping to run the massive signature gathering drive via their firm, Arno Political Consultants.
Michael Arno is senior adviser to the Podesta Group lobbying and public relations firm, which was founded by John Podesta, who directed Obama’s transition into the White House in 2008.
Podesta is director of the Center for American Progress, which is reportedly highly influential in helping to craft White House policy.
A Time magazine article profiled the influence of Podesta’s Center for American Progress in the formation of the Obama administration, stating that “not since the Heritage Foundation helped guide Ronald Reagan’s transition in 1981 has a single outside group held so much sway.”
AE, meanwhile, reportedly originally was associated with another group that sought an independent candidate. That organization, calling itself Unity08, eventually suspended operations citing organizing and fundraising issues.
Unity08 said it did not back any particular candidate, but two of its founders launched their own national effort to draft New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to run for president.
The Irregular Times documented how AE and Unity08 shared the same Washington, D.C., address. Previously, Unity08 shared its address with the Draft Bloomberg Committee.
Irregular Times also found that the founders of Unity08 “registered the domain name draftmichaelbloomberg.com in 2007 at a time when Unity08 was insisting that it had no candidates in mind.”
Mysterious funding
AE’s funding has been called into question.
In late 2010, AE changed its tax status from a tax-exempt group to what is known as a 501(c)(4), or social-welfare organization, which is not required to show its donor list.
Capital Weekly reported that prior to the change, in the second and third quarters of 2010, AE’s more than $1.5 million in funding came from one person – venture capitalist, Unity08 activist and Obama donor Peter Ackerman.
Ackerman reportedly gave AE a total of at least $5 million in seen money. Many of AE’s other donors are unknown.
AE officials have defended their secretive donor collection practices.
“We have to be able to raise significant amounts of money to be able to take on the status quo,” Kahlil Byrd, AE’s chief executive officer, told Mother Jones last November.
Byrd said that if his group would be compelled to disclose its donors, there would be “a chilling effect … on people’s willingness to participate in this process.”
Democracy 21 and the Campaign Legal Center, two campaign finance watchdogs, requested in September the IRS investigate Americans Elect, charging it may be violating nonprofit status by function like a political party.
Voting issues
Finances are not the only source of controversy.
Mother Jones reported that AE’s Internet voting system has been called into question.
Pamela Smith, president of VerifiedVoting.org, a voters’ advocacy group, argued AE’s reliance on Internet voting is insecure and difficult to audit.
“If you allow it to be used in public elections without assurance that the results are verifiably accurate, that is an extraordinary and unnecessary risk to democracy,” she says.
Regardless of the results, there are concerns that current guidelines reportedly allow AE to anoint its own candidate.
Salon.com reporter Justin Elliott noted candidates chosen by voters must be approved by a Candidate Certification Committee, which according to the group’s bylaws consists of AE’s board members.
The committee, according to the bylaws obtained by Salon, will need to certify a “balanced ticket obligation” consisting of candidates who are “responsive to the vast majority of citizens while remaining independent of special interests and the partisan interests of either major political party.”
In response, AE official Darry Sragow told Salon’s Elliot that his group’s guidelines are subject to change.
Sragow went on to defend AE’s board, even likening them to the Founding Fathers.
“While we don’t mean to put the board in the company of the Founding Fathers, we’d point out that nobody picked the Founding Fathers, either,” Sragow stated.
“They took it upon themselves to turn a popular dream into a shared reality. And they, too, had debates over how much control should be centralized. They knew that too much power in the hands of too few isn’t real democracy, but that power too diffuse is anarchy.”
Obama backers
WND reviewed AE’s board, finding multiple ties to Obama while some Republicans also graced the committee.
Besides Ackerman, an Obama donor who gave money to help start AE, the advisory board includes Lawrence Lessig, an Obama technology adviser.
Lessig has been mentioned as a future candidate to head the Federal Communications Commission, the FCC. He is an activist for reduced legal restrictions on copyright material and advised Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.
AE’s CEO, Kahlil Byrd, has drawn scrutiny from conservatives because he formerly served as Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick’s communications director. Patrick’s chief strategist was top Obama strategist David Axelrod.
AE board members Kellen Arno and Michael Arno are tied to John Podesta, as WND noted.
Meanwhile, AE’s board also includes former John McCain aide Mark McKinnon, Will Marshall of the Progressive Policy Institute, former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman, Larry Diamond of the Hoover Institute, former Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair.
AE also has ties to Hillary Clinton supporters.
Lynn Forester de Rothschild, who is a prominent Hillary Clinton backer, is on the board, as is Doug Schoen, a former pollster and adviser to Bill Clinton.
Schoen recently was in the news after he teamed up with Jimmy Carter’s former aide Patrick to publish an editorial in the Wall Street Journal last month, entitled “The Hillary Moment,” in which they called for Clinton to throw her hat into the ring for the presidency.
The two wrote another piece at Politico.com calling for Democratic voters nationally – particularly in New Hampshire – to organize a write-in campaign for Clinton.

WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, I LOVE RON PAUL’S IDEAS, HE IS A QUIRKY LITTLE SHIT, BUT THE FACT REMAINS THAT CONSERVATIVES ARE WORRIED THAT BACKING RON PAUL IS EQUALLY DANGEROUS IN A SINGULAR NOMINATION FOR PRESIDENT, AND TO LET HIM RUN THIRD PARTY DIVIDES THE PARTY. RON PAUL HAS HIS LOYALISTS, BUT BECAUSE HE IS LIBERTARIAN, THE GOP TOLERATES HIM BECAUSE HE HAS REGISTERED AS REPUBLICAN. WE AGREE WITH PAUL IN THEORY, BUT NOT IN PRACTICE. EVERYONE IS SO WORRIED HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL NOT VOTE IF PAUL IS THE NOMINEE IN THE GENERAL ELECTION, AND THEY ARE WORRIED IF HE RUNS THIRD PARTY, HE WILL TAKE VOTES FROM THE GOP. SUCH IS OLD HAT POLITICS. WE NEED TO PICK A NOMINEE DESERVING, NOT PROGNOSTICATE ELECTIONS.

Maverick Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio is challenging the Obama administration’s Department of Justice to present evidence to back its charge that his office is discriminating against Hispanics.
“Prove it,” Arpaio said in remarks directed at Holder in an interview with WND.
“If Eric Holder has evidence that the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has engaged in systematic violations of the civil rights of Hispanic, then show me the evidence,” Arpaio said.
Arpaio contends that the 22-page complaint the Department of Justice released Dec. 15 against his office was nothing more than anecdotal and didn’t prove there are systematic sheriff’s department policies aimed at depriving Hispanics in Maricopa County of their civil rights.
Nor was Arpaio concerned that the DOJ might take him and his sheriff’s department to federal court.
“If the Justice Department wants to take me to court, I’m ready,” Arpaio said.
Arpaio was responding to a statement emailed today to WND in which the DOJ threatened to go to court immediately rather than show Arpaio’s office and the U.S. public the evidence it claims to have.
“If MCSO wants to debate the facts instead of fixing the problems stated in our findings, we will do so by way of litigation,” DOJ said in the statement.
The statement implied the DOJ already has rejected an offer of cooperation made yesterday by attorneys representing MCSO in a cover letter to the MCSO 38-page response to the DOJ complaint.
In the cover letter, Arpaio attorney Joseph J. Popolizio made it clear that the sheriff was willing to cooperate with Holder and the DOJ, but only if the DOJ revealed to the MCSO and the public its proof.
“Sheriff Joseph M. Arpaio and the MCSO are certainly interested in constructive dialogue, but constructive dialogue can only occur if the DOJ provides the facts and information on which it bases its findings,” Popolizio wrote.
Nothing more than a political attack?
Arpaio also took exception to the DOJ assertion that the federal investigation against his office began under the Bush administration.
“There may have been complaints filed with the Justice Department under the Bush administration,” Arpaio conceded, “but we were first notified in March 2009 – in the Obama administration’s first 100 days – that the Department of Justice had begun a formal investigation of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.”
Arpaio pointed out that after three years of cooperating with the Justice Department investigation, the his office was given only one-hour’s advance notice that the report was going to be released.
On the morning of Dec. 15, the Justice Department called officials of the Sheriff’s office to a 9 a.m. meeting, refusing to disclose in advance the purpose of the meeting.
One hour later, at 10 a.m. local time, Perez held a press conference in Phoenix, making the Arpaio report public.
DOJ officials turned away MCSO representatives from attending the press conference, claiming the room was too full to permit additional attendees.
Arpaio questioned the timing of the press conference, noting that Dec. 15 was one day after the first anniversary of the gun battle near the Arizona border in which Border Patrol Agent Brian A. Terry was gunned down by illegal immigrants armed with weapons supplied by the Justice Department in the now controversial “Fast and Furious” gun-walking operation that has brought Holder under considerable political pressure to resign.
Clearly, winning the Latino vote is a key presidential election strategy for the Democratic Party in 2012.
On Sept. 28, Obama gave a White House interview to three Latino journalists in which he singled out Arpaio by name and declared Maricopa County should not be taken as the “model” for U.S. immigration laws.
Some observers also note the timing. The Obama administration chose to make public allegations resulting from a three-year DOJ investigation after Arpaio authorized a MCSO Cold Case Posse to investigate Obama’s birth certificate and his eligibility to be president under Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution.
Moreover, the DOJ in delivering the Dec. 15 complaint indicated Arapio’s office would have only two months to comply – timing coincident with the scheduled February 2012 release of the Cold Case Posse’s investigation.
Arpaio reminded WND that he is a sheriff, elected by the voters of Maricopa County. As such, he is the chief law enforcement officer in the county, not an appointed law enforcement officer responsible to the mayor, a state attorney general or even to the attorney general of the United States.
“I report to the people of Maricopa County,” Arpaio said, “and I intend to continue enforcing the immigration laws of the state of Arizona as long as I hold this office.”
Arpaio also told WND that he intends to run for re-election as Maricopa County sheriff in 2012, despite efforts organized in Phoenix by activist-attorney Randy Parraz to pressure the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors into demanding Arpaio’s resignation.
DOJ retracts apology to Arpaio
Arpaio attorney Popolizo also disclosed in his cover letter that DOJ attorney Roy Austin had privately apologized to MCSO that the DOJ appeared to be taking a political direction with the complaint against Arpaio.
“Mr. Austin’s private expression of gratitude [to the MCSO for cooperation in the DOJ investigation] was also accompanied by an apology,” Popolizo continued. “Mr. Austin specifically apologized to us for not being able to control the timing or manner of the announcement of the investigation’s finding, despite his earlier promise that if the MCSO fully cooperated with DOJ’s investigation, a politicization of this investigation would not occur.”
In the statement DOJ issued to WND, DOJ characterized Austin’s apology rather than deny that an apology had been made.
“Regarding your question on Deputy Assistant Attorney General Roy Austin, he apologized if [MCSO's] feelings were hurt by the public release of the findings, but he informed them that the Civil Rights Division always publicly releases the findings of its law enforcement investigations because it is absolutely crucial to tell the people in the relevant community what was found so that the community is a part of any necessary reform,” DOJ spokeswoman Xochita Hinojosa wrote to WND in an email.
DOJ refuses to show proof
The DOJ statement issued today makes clear it considers the complaints proved as alleged and sees no reason to provide the evidence to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office or the public.
“The Justice Department looks forward to sitting down with MCSO in the near future to discuss a path forward that contains a court enforceable agreement that will create the necessary sustainable reforms,” the DOJ statement began, indicating clearly the Obama administration has already judged Arpaio and the MCSO guilty.
As far as the DOJ is concerned, the only thing left to discuss is how fast Arpaio and his sheriff’s office intends to comply with DOJ demands.
“Our findings show a clear violation of the Constitution and federal law, and are more than sufficient to file a complaint against a law enforcement agency,” the DOJ statement concluded.
Discovery to compel DOJ to show its hand
Arpaio and the attorneys representing the MCSO remain confident that DOJ will not be able for long to avoid making public their evidence.
Since the DOJ and Arpaio’s office appear headed directly to federal court, the court proceedings can be expected to allow MCSO discovery – a legal process in which the federal judge will order DOJ to turn over to the MCSO all evidence obtained to substantiate the allegations of systematic civil rights violations.
Popolizo’s cover letter indicates that the MCSO anticipated DOJ might refuse to make its evidence public.
“We sincerely hope that the DOJ’s recent public stance regarding its refusal to disclose information relevant to this investigation, which starkly contrasts its private, yet deficient pledge to provide at least some information, is not the foreshadowing of a preordained, DOJ decision to file suit in the face of the MCSO’s mere request for information,” Popolizo wrote.
“Please know, however, that we stand ready to litigate this matter should the DOJ refuse to provide the information we seek.”
Popolizo further argued that it was unreasonable for DOJ to expect MCSO to make changes in policy by proceeding “in a vacuum” absent any documenting evidence that would substantiate and quantify the severity the allegations.
“If the DOJ chooses the litigation route, that route will lead the parties through discovery and result in the DOJ’s compelled provision of the information we now request to evaluate its findings and determine what changes at the MCSO may be necessary, if any,” Popolizo continued.
In total, the MCSO 38-page response made 106 specific requests for evidence backing up the allegations.
Typically, the attorneys representing the MCSO began each of the 106 requests with a broadly written demand, asking, for instance: “Please provide each and every fact, document, report, statement (recorded, handwritten, or typewritten), affidavits, writings of any kind, and any and all evidence upon which the DOJ relies.”
Attorneys representing the MCSO can be expected to make requests of this kind when asking the federal judge hearing the case for discovery rights.

ISTANBUL — In an unprecedented move, a civilian court ordered the arrest of Turkey’s former head of the army, the highest-ranking officer so far to be charged with leadership of an illegal network accused of seeking to overthrow the government, news outlets reported late Thursday.

General Basbug in 2010.
Gen. Ilker Basbug, who was the chief of the army’s general staff from 2008 until his retirement in 2010, denied the charges, calling it a tragicomedy that the former commander of one of the world’s strongest armies would be accused of belonging to a terrorist organization, according to NTV, a private television station.
“It is very sad, and hard to understand,” he said during a 12-hour interrogation, NTV said. “If authorities have failed to discover any of this misconduct that I am claimed to have committed in active duty, then all is incomprehensible.”
The civilian court in Istanbul ordered the general jailed pending his trial on charges of seeking to overthrow the government.
His arrest appeared to be the latest skirmish in a power struggle between the pro-Islamic governing party, Justice and Development, and the secular establishment, which includes the army.
The government has jailed more than 300 people, including more than 200 active or retired military officers, as part of an investigation into what is said to be a plot in 2003 by the ultranationalist Ergenekon network to bomb mosques, assassinate prominent figures or start wars to stir chaos and prepare the grounds for a military coup.
No one has yet been convicted.
The military, which has long seen itself as the defender of Turkey’s secular Constitution, has carried out three successful coups. The governing party, which is rooted in a banned Islamist group, has insisted that the military is no longer beyond the law. The party has said that it is building a religiously tolerant democracy.
The rivalry intensified in July when the chief of the armed forces and the commanders of the navy, army and air force resigned en masse to protest the arrests of dozens of generals in conspiracy investigations they contend are politically motivated.
Human rights activists say the government is using the courts to intimidate opponents, and have expressed concern that suspects who could be tried in freedom are routinely jailed.
The detainees include 97 journalists, publishers and other members of the media, raising concerns that the arrests are intended to silence critics.
The government’s heavy hand in these cases has tarnished Turkey’s image as a model of democracy in the Muslim world and raised questions about its candidacy for membership in the European Union.
In the hearing on Thursday, the court also questioned General Basbug’s motives for public statements he made discrediting the findings of security operations against those suspected of being coup plotters, one of his lawyers said in a televised statement.
General Basbug reportedly replied that none of his statements had any hidden agenda except to bolster the morale of soldiers under his command.
The general was arrested after a number of other former military officers in a parallel court case claimed that antigovernment Web sites that they had set up had been primarily ordered by General Basbug, claims that he denied.
In Washington, the State Department said that it was monitoring the trial and that Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton had urged Turkish authorities during her visit to Istanbul last fall to address concerns about freedom of expression.
“We are watching this carefully and continuing to make clear our strong concerns about press freedom in Turkey to the Turkish government,” a State Department spokeswoman, Victoria Nuland, said at a news briefing on Thursday.
She added: “We have to see whether this trial goes forward in a manner that is consistent with international standards, consistent with international human rights. So that’s the standard by which we’ll judge it.”

25 dead in Syrian 'terrorist' blast, state media says

Deadly explosion in Damascus
STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Damascus blast took place near a school, state media says
  • The bomber detonated at a traffic light, the report says
  • At least 46 people were injured, most of them civilians, state media says
  • At least eight deaths occurred Friday in other locations, activists said
(CNN) -- A suicide bomber blew himself up in the Syrian capital on Friday, killing at least 25 people and wounding 46 others, Syrian state media reported.
The incident took place in the al-Midan quarter of Damascus. Casualties included mostly civilians and some law enforcement personnel, the Syrian Arab News Agency said.
The news agency said the "terrorist explosion" went off at a traffic light "in a densely populated area" with heavy traffic. It occurred near Hassan al-Hakeem Basic Education School.
No one has claimed responsibility for the action. It comes a couple of days after the Free Syrian Army, the force of military defectors fighting the Bashar al-Assad regime, vowed to kick off "huge operations" against government targets.
The Local Coordination Committees of Syria, a network of opposition activists which collects reports from eyewitnesses and protesters, reported a heavy presence of ambulances and security forces in Damascus, with explosions heard around the area.
The LCC reported anti-government demonstrations and a massive deployment of security forces in other parts of the country. At least eight people have died elsewhere, four in Hama, three in the Damascus suburbs and one in Homs. The LCC said security forces firing at protesters shot a child in the chest in one location.
Every Friday for months, anti-government activists have staged mass demonstrations across Syria, and each week has a different theme. This week's theme had the slogan "In fighting tyranny, belief in God will grant you victory."
The apparent suicide attack comes as Arab League monitors are in the country to determine whether the Syrian government is abiding by an agreement to end its 10-month crackdown against protests. The Arab League said Friday it is increasing the number of monitors in Syria over the next few days to 150 people, from about 100.
Between 5,000 and 6,000 deaths have occurred during the crackdown, according to various accounts. Activists blame the killings on a 10-month-long brutal government crackdown against peaceful protesters. Al-Assad's government says it is putting down armed terrorists, whom it blames for the bloodshed.
The Friday blast comes two weeks after a pair of powerful car bomb explosions killed at least 44 people in Damascus. The government blamed the strike on terrorists, while opposition forces accused the regime of carrying out the attack to back up its claim of fighting terrorists.
The December 23 strikes on the State Security Directorate and another security branch had the "fingerprints of al Qaeda," the Interior Ministry said. It cited the "modus operandi" and the selection of highly populated areas. SANA posted photos of cars with shattered windows and the body of one man who appeared to be a casualty.
CNN cannot independently confirm events inside Syria because the government has restricted activities by international journalists.
CNN's Mohamed Fadel Fahmy, Nada Husseini, Pierre Meilhan and Joe Sterling contributed to this report.

A suicide bomber who blew himself up at a traffic light in Syria's capital Damascus has killed at least ten people and wounded dozens of others, most of them civilians, state television has said.
The attack occurred in the al-Maidan neighbourhood in the heart of the capital on Friday, two weeks after 44 people died in a similar attack in Damascus.
Footage broadcast by Syria Television showed the shattered, blood splattered windows of what appeared to be a police bus.
The official SANA news agency spoke of casualties among civilians and security force personnel.
Al Jazeera's Hashem Ahelbarra, reporting from the Turkish town of Antakya, near Syria's northern border, said it was unclear who was behind the attack.
"We are getting reports that the blast targeted security forces in a bus while they were trying to surround the area.
"We didn’t get an official reaction yet from the Free Syrian Army or from the opposition. Their statements in the past regarding previous blasts in Syria were that they were staged by the government."
Some opposition activists said the explosion had targeted a police station, others said it was an intelligence building.
"There is more security in Maidan than usual because it is Friday and there are lots of military and security checkpoints. We do not know what was targeted yet," said a resident, a private sector employee who declined to be named.
Another resident said: "I didn't hear anything, but a lot of streets are closed and everyone is really nervous."

Protests planned
Last month's bombings targeted security buildings in the capital and were also the work of suicide bombers, the Syrian authorities have said.
The powerful December 23 bombings initiated a swirl of claims and counter-claims over who was responsible, with the authorities saying they were likely the work of al-Qaeda and the opposition pointing the finger at the regime.
The latest attack came ahead of planned mass protests by pro-democracy activists to demand that an Arab League observers' mission, in Syria for two weeks, admit its failure to stem nearly 10 months of bloodshed and hand over to the UN.
The team of Arab League observers have been trying to assess whether President Bashar al-Assad's regime is complying with a peace accord aimed at ending its deadly crackdown on dissent.
Activists say the monitors do not have enough access and are escorted by Syrian authorities, who they say are manipulating them and hiding prisoners in military facilities.
After meeting UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in New York on Wednesday, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar's prime minister, pointed out that the league's mission was the first of its kind.

"I said we must evaluate the types of mistakes it made and without a shadow of a doubt I see mistakes, even though we went in to observe, not to stop the violence," he said.
The "Syrian Revolution 2011" group, one of the driving forces on the internet behind the uprising, called on Facebook for demonstrations on Friday to urge the "internationalisation of our cause".
The appeal for people to take to the streets following the main weekly Muslim prayers comes ahead of an Arab League meeting in Egypt on Sunday to discuss the mission which has come in for scathing criticism this week.
Syria has been racked for 10 months by an uprising against President al-Assad in which the UN says more than 5,000 people have been killed.
The government says armed "terrorists" have killed 2,000 members of the security forces.

Is Newt Gingrich a Racist?

by chaoskitty123 Posted January 08, 2012
As a Ron Paul supporter and opponent of Newt Gingrich, you might think I'm about to say Gingrich is a racist... I am not.
Quote
"And so I'm prepared if the NAACP invites me, I'll go to their convention and talk about why the African American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps,"
End Quote

This is a statement by Gingrich from Thursdays speech where he speaks specifically to the NAACP that if they invited him to speak to the African American community, he would go. His comment about food stamps is actually a comment black civil rights have made in the past stating that they "wanted paychecks not food stamps" and most people on the political left have heard civil rights leaders, black Americans in general and even white leftwingers saying this to illustrate the failure of our society to provide jobs to the black community where they could provide for themselves instead of relying on government aid to provide for them. Some black civil rights leaders have called their own people beggers in reference to what society has made of them so if Gingrich called them beggers I would assume he would be called racist as well.

But let's set the record straight here. When Bush was President, Gingrich said on many occasions that the Republicans needed to do more to help black Americans to change the Republican image and to deal with the problems in these communities which lead so many young black Americans into crime or into an endless cycle of despair where we have one generation after another depending on the government for survival not because they were this way by choice... but because of the hopelessness of being told every day that nothing would ever change.

I actually agree with Newt on this but it also lends itself to Newts leftwing views which he denies having and then turns right around admitting he has these views. This is what I mean when I call Newt a liar as he can contradict himself in the same sentence and there are so many contradictions where we have him on video and radio broadcasts telling us he supports this or that and then he turns around saying he doesn't, accuses people of lying and then comes up with excuses blaming others when he is shown proof of his lies.

I won't support Newt Gingrich nor vote for him. But the truth needs addressed when the man is accused of something where his stated views reveal the accusations false.

I do not believe Newt Gingrich is a racist and unless someone finds an undeniable proof he is a racist, there have been so many false claims of racism over the past three years under the Obama Presidency that I will not believe someone is a racist without an absolute proof.
And saying he will go into black communities telling them they should demand jobs instead of food stamps to me seems like a very positive message no different than what many black civil rights leaders have been saying for decades.
Besides, if it were racist... this man has to have steel balls to say that in regard to a real intention of going to speak in the black community and I doubt he's that stupid lol.
My only criticism is it's not food stamps anymore... it's EBT or Electronic Benefits Transfer and stamps have been done away with for like 20 years haven't they ;P
Aja Brooks
No Newt Gingrich is not a racist... his prior policies are not racist, nor does he hate blacks for being black any more than hating Native Americans for being here first. Ron Paul is not a racist, but he does use racist language and he does hate the niggerism of black people abusing welfare. He does not hate a person for being black, but he hates the government for impeding the progress of black people and for contributing and creating the problem of poverty in promoting the ignorance of black people politically, bribing and suckering their intelligence for food stamps, welfare, and stuff that is not free, that they have to pay for through taxation.
As a Ron Paul supporter and opponent of Newt Gingrich, you might think I'm about to say Gingrich is a racist... I am not. Lord we fall at your feet: 42 million people a year fall into sexual sin, and they do not care, man or woman, to practice abstinence, get married, or use birth control.... we have a faithless segment of Society, as half of these people do it once, and learn: the other half are in the throngs of idolatry, refusing the honor the gift of life and feed and care for Your creation destroying lives multiple times from abortion. Lord let us pray for those 20 million, who estranged themselves from God, that they come back to you and repent. The other half who repeatedly have abortion, let us pray, for they are certainly evil, bring evil to OUR land, and their heart has hardened before you. Satan is using them as a murder weapon. Protect us as we go about your work in restoration and by snatching their souls from the fires of hell.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Fresh off two strong debates in New Hampshire, Rick Perry launched a campaign resuscitation effort here Sunday with a sharp, simple message.
“I am one of you,” he said to a crowd of roughly 100 at the Beacon Drive In restaurant. “And where I grew up and how I grew up has made such an impact on my life, and continues to have an impact on my life and will continue to have an impact if I am in the White House.”

Listen
With a heavy emphasis on his Christian faith, and some pointed contrasts with his opponents, the Texas governor is waging a vigorous last stand to rally the Palmetto State’s conservative Republican voters to his side.
David Wilkins, a former ambassador to Canada and a key political player here, declared the state “Rick Perry country.”
Perry certainly hopes that’s the case. He’s coming off a fifth-place finish in Iowa and trying to claw his way back into relevancy with this last-ditch campaign swing that started Sunday afternoon here in the state’s “upstate” region.
“The target’s in sight, and I’m not giving up,” Perry said, adding that he has “never quit a day in my life.”
Despite the disappointing Iowa finish, Perry has a sliver of momentum. In fact, if the first few debate performances had gone as well as the two he clocked this weekend, his campaign might never have tumbled from the top of the polls.
But now he’s barely registering a blip in the contest. The only candidate he mentioned by name at his stop at the Beacon — where Perry ordered a pile of fried food and chili — was Mitt Romney, whose record he blasted.
“The fact is if you want to know how somebody’s going to perform in the future, look to their past,” Perry said in a packed, closed-off section of the eatery on a rainy afternoon. “In fact, Mitt said, ‘if you want know how I’m going to perform, look at my record.’ I have, Mitt.”
A woman called out that she didn’t like it. Perry responded, “I’m with you, ma’am.”
On the debate stages in New Hampshire and Sunday evening in South Carolina, Perry projected confidence: He swung repeatedly at his rivals for being Washington insiders and connected that with the original argument of his candidacy. He blasted Barack Obama repeatedly and called the president a socialist. He hardly stumbled. He even made a self-deprecating reference to his infamous “oops” moment from an early November debate, when he couldn’t remember the third of three agencies he wanted to eliminate from the federal government.
“It would be those bureaucrats at the Department of Commerce and Energy and Education that we’re going to do away with,” Perry said in response to a question about cuts that would inflict pain on Americans.
As the audience burst into laughs, Rick Santorum held up three fingers and a grinning Perry returned the gesture.
Even NBC moderator David Gregory couldn’t resist a dig. “And that’s your final answer,” he quipped.

Amir Mirzaei Hekmati, Former U.S. Marine, Sentenced To Death In Iran

TEHRAN, Iran — An Iranian court has convicted an American man of working for the CIA and sentenced him to death, state radio reported Monday, in a case adding to the accelerating tension between the United States and Iran.
Iran charges that as a former U.S. Marine, Amir Mirzaei Hekmati, received special training and served at U.S. military bases in Iraq and Afghanistan before heading to Iran for his alleged intelligence mission. The radio report did not say when the verdict was issued.
The 28-year-old former military translator was born in Arizona and graduated from high school in Michigan. His family is of Iranian origin. His father, a professor at a community college in Flint, Michigan, has said his son is not a CIA spy and was visiting his grandmothers in Iran when he was arrested.
Behnaz Hekmati, his mother, said in an email to The Associated Press that she and her husband, Ali, are "shocked and terrified" that their son has been sentenced to death. She said the verdict is "the result of a process that was neither transparent nor fair."
Under Iranian law, he has 20 days to appeal. Hekmati has a court-appointed lawyer who was identified only by his surname, Samadi, and there was no word about an appeal.
Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejehei, spokesman for Iran's judiciary said if the verdict is appealed, it would go to Iran's Supreme Court, the official IRNA news agency reported.
Hekmati's trial took place as the U.S. announced new, tougher sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program, which Washington believes Tehran is using to develop a possible atomic weapons capability.
Iran, which says it only seeks nuclear reactors for energy and research, has sharply increased its threats and military posturing against stronger pressures, including the U.S. sanctions targeting Iran's Central Bank in attempts to complicate its ability to sell oil.
The U.S. State Department has demanded Hekmati's release.
The court convicted him of working with a hostile country, belonging to the CIA and trying to accuse Iran of involvement in terrorism, Monday's report said.
In its ruling, a branch of Tehran Revolutionary Court described Hekmati as a mohareb, an Islamic term that means a fighter against God, and a mofsed, or one who spreads corruption on earth. Both terms appear frequently in Iranian court rulings.
In a closed court hearing in late December, the prosecution asked for the death penalty for Hekmati.
The U.S. government has called on Iranian authorities to grant Swiss diplomats access to him in prison. The Swiss government represents U.S. interests in Iran because the two countries don't have diplomatic relations.
Hekmati is a dual U.S.-Iranian national. Iran considers him an Iranian since the country's law does not recognize dual citizenship.
Similar cases against Americans accused of spying have heightened tensions throughout the years-long standoff over Iran's nuclear program.
Iran arrested three Americans in July 2009 along the border with Iraq and accused them of espionage, though the Americans said they were just hiking in the scenic and relatively peaceful Kurdish region of northern Iraq.
One of them was released after a year in prison, and the other two were freed in September in deals involving bail payments that were brokered by the Gulf sultanate of Oman, which has good relations with Iran and the U.S.
On Dec. 18, Iran's state TV broadcast video of Hekmati delivering a purported confession in which he said he was part of a plot to infiltrate Iran's Intelligence Ministry.
In a statement released the same day, the Intelligence Ministry said its agents identified Hekmati before his arrival in Iran, at Bagram Air Field in neighboring Afghanistan. Bagram is the main base for American and other international forces outside Kabul, the Afghan capital.
It is not clear exactly when he was arrested. News reports have said he was detained in late August or early September.
Hekmati's father said in a December interview with The Associated Press, that his son was a former Arabic translator in the U.S. Marines who entered Iran about four months earlier to visit his grandmothers.
At the time, he was working in Qatar as a contractor for a company "that served the Marines," his father said, without providing more specific details.2012_TeaParty Tea Party Chief

AHMEDINEJAD COMES TO HIS SENSES, AS PRIME MINISTER PRAISES OUR NAVY, FOR SAVING IRANIAN BOAT FROM SOMALI PIRATES:

Iran praises 'humanitarian' US navy

Tehran: Iran has hailed the actions of the US navy as "humanitarian" after an American warship freed 13 Iranians held by Somali pirates."We consider the actions of the US forces in saving the lives of Iranian seamen to be a humanitarian and positive act and we welcome such behaviour," Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast was quoted as saying Saturday by the Al-Alam broadcaster.
The US Navy said in a statement that the guided-missile destroyer USS Kidd, part of the USS John C. Stennis aircraft carrier strike group which just departed the Gulf, responded to a distress call from the Iranian boat Al Molai held by Somali pirates for more than 40 days.
A US Navy team from the USS Kidd was taken by a helicopter to the Iranian boat Thursday. The boat was freed and 15 pirates were detained, Xinhua reported.
The pirates were believed to be Somalis. The Iranians were released after the US Navy restocked and refueled their vessel, said RIA Novosti.
The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman said the campaign against pirates was an "international obligation", and Iran has conducted such operations in the past against pirates to release sailors of other nations, Xinhua reported citing IRNA news agency.
The Iranians were also given food, water and medical care by the US Navy team.
The rescue operation came amid rising tension between the US and Iran, which conducted a 10-day naval exercise dubbed "Velayat 90" starting Dec 24. The USS John C. Stennis was reportedly sent to the Gulf to observe the military drill.

Dispelling Myths and Misinformation About NDAA

Washington – Armed Services Committee Members Reps. Mac Thornberry (R-TX) and Tim Griffin (R-AR) each firmly clarified and dismissed myths and misinformation about the National Defense Authorization Act and the detainee provisions in the conference report. Griffin's radio segment and Thornberry's thorough blog post on the matter are both included below:

"Read it before you believe it: misinformation on detainment authority in Defense Bill"
>>Thornberry Congressional Blog  (full text below)
Rep. Mac Thornberry
December 15, 2011
There has been a fair amount of inaccurate information and misunderstanding about the final version of the Defense Authorization Bill (NDAA), which passed the House yesterday.  The bill provides pay and benefits for our troops, buys the weapons and equipment they need, and funds research to help meet future threats.  It is an important bill to pass because it helps carry out the first job of the federal government – our national defense.
There are some misunderstandings related to two provisions involving the detention of Al Qaeda terrorists.  Over the past decade, the United States has detained members of Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and associated groups when they have been captured on the battlefield.  In fact, some were released and had to be recaptured or killed because they went back to killing American soldiers.   Both the Bush and Obama Administrations have detained those individuals who are members of Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and associated groups, and the courts have affirmed the ability to do so under the U.S. Constitution.  But, the specific authorization for detention was inferred from the Authorization to Use Military Force; it was not explicitly stated in statute.
The NDAA explicitly states that authority in statute, on the exact same terms as the courts have recognized it with one exception.  The bill adds explicit protections for American citizens – even American citizens who have joined Al Qaeda to take up arms against the United States.
Some people have argued that these provisions allow a President to detain American citizens within the United States indefinitely if he brands them a terrorist.  That is not true.
Here are two specific provisions from the bill.  Read them yourself.
SUBTITLE D. SEC. 1021. (p. 655)
  • (e) AUTHORITIES.—Nothing in this section

shall be construed to affect existing law or
authorities relating to the detention of
United States citizens, lawful resident aliens
of the United States, or any other persons
who are captured or arrested in the United
   States.
SUBTITLE D. SEC. 1022. (p. 657)
  • (b) APPLICABILITY TO UNITED STATES CITIZENS

   AND LAWFUL RESIDENT ALIENS.—
   (1) UNITED STATES CITIZENS.—The requirement
to detain a person in military custody
under this section does not extend to citizens
   of the United States.
If words have meaning, that is about as clear as English can get.
Some of the misunderstanding arose because there have been several versions of the bill language and previous versions did not have all of the protections that were in the final bill.  Other misunderstanding came because some groups do not agree with current law.  Some of them believe that all Al Qaeda terrorists should have the full constitutional rights of an American citizen, including the right to consult a lawyer, even on the battlefield.
Those debates will continue.  But the purpose of this bill was to put into statute the current legal standard agreed upon by two administrations and the courts.
I’m afraid that some well-intentioned people have been agitated for reasons that just don’t exist.
That does not mean that Congress should not continue to examine this issue.  There may be legislative improvements that need to be made.  We must protect Americans from Al Qaeda and other terrorists and at the same time protect our individual rights and liberties under the Constitution.  We can do both.

It has taken 5 years, but God has finally answered my prayers for prison reform in the state of Georgia: Governor Nathan Deal unveiled the 2012 budget to include provisions to reduce the prison population by referring non-violent drug offenders directly to alternative programs (Drug courts, DUI courts, mental health courts, daily reporting, and expanding probation through treatment agreement. This doesn't always mean drug therapy, but counseling that most people can't afford or get adequate resolution by use of County Centers). When you do not pay your probation, as restitution for the state imprisoning you: this costs the state $1,500 a month, or $5,000 a month, for just one person.
With many people choosing imprisonment, rather than a probation sentence that they can not or won't even try to complete upon release, this not only eats a hole in the state budget $18,000 to $60,000 for one person, per year, it strains the state to ask for federal money from Social Security to cover the costs. This is what has caused the government to shut down, going on the 4th time since Obama took Office. While the 2011 Tea Party Treatise did not legalize outlawed drugs, as did the personal use laws enacted in Mexico, it recognizes them and the studies in Canada that proved prohibition of substances did not work. In taking all of that into consideration, the Treatise enabled law enforcement to go forward: empowered by citizens who had this knowledge in distinguishing between drug use and drug abuse, in what was injurious and what posed a danger to national security: http://www.facebook.com/groups/thesynthesis/doc/141108292621174/
The Treatise put law enforcement on the same page with taxpayers, and it is a 5yr. agreement and reinstates the Constitution as the law of the land, favoring instead to focus law enforcement's time, energy, and budgets to be expended upon protecting us from real and present dangers while making us accountable to our community. A person convicted of a drug crime is still a father, mother, sister, or brother: the biggest risk being accidental overdose or death from prolonged abuse or excessive binging. The state also illegally takes a person's wealth over an arbitrary health problem in imprisoning 'an offender': making them pay to be punished by paying for it through fines and taxation, while paying the state to take their freedom away... they are not a hardened criminal, don't have a history of multiple arrests or a lengthy history of crime, and they certainly aren't murderers or people exacting coercion. Those are only 15% of the prison population.
A person chooses drugs or alcohol because they have a dopamine deficiency, like a diabetic who doesn't make insulin: sometimes it's genetics, sometimes it's a choice of lifestyle. We now understand that an afflicted person can not get the dopamine through food, like they would normally, or working out, though that helps immensely, until the body starts making it again on its own. Studying PTSD with Veterans, smoking cessation programs, and alternative medicine led us to these conclusions. For those that don't return to producing dopamine in a balanced way, they may need medication much like those needing insulin. There are natural alternatives without side effects, to avoid medication, which has side effects that would deter and stop a person from getting treatment or staying the course: weight gain, blood sugar sensitivity, cramps in the calves, changes in sexual performance/desire, and sleeping 12hrs. a day.
Until we can determine standardization of marijuana or percentage of dopamine in other drugs, it can not be regulated by the FDA. Georgia is reluctant to adopt California's laws on marijuana, where the taxes and varying products are sold from a dispensary. This has not reduced CA's $15 billion deficit, nor has it reduced crime.
Our reform is expansion of 33 alternative courts and tribunals who test piloted the measure to reduce repeated offending/breaking of the law, which happens 30% of the time, but with this style of correction a person only falls back about 5% failure. This will save $18,000 per inmate per year, most having to serve 1-3yrs. as the standard minimum for non-violent drug possession charge. 20,000 people are now being held, so this would save the state anywhere from $360,000,000 (yes $360 million dollars) and for those who violate once or get sentenced to 3yrs. off the rip: $480,000,000,000 (yes $480 billion dollars). With the prison population increasing at a rate of 20,000 a year now, because of a bad economy, with violent crime going down for the first time but burglary and theft up, you can easily double that to $720 million dollars in upwards to $960 billion. Yes... in GA alone it will now cost taxpayers $1 trillion without this projected reform.
H.R. 4872 has ballooned our deficit from $1.5 million, to a projected $1.3 billion,
up more than 10x its normal rate, for insurance that none of us got....

Red money, blue money: The making of the 2012 campaign

Two wealthy tribes will decide the political messages we hear -- and the ones we won't

BY JUSTIN ELLIOTT
Karl Rove (Credit: Reuters/Salon)
TOPICS:2012 ELECTIONS, CAMPAIGN FINANCE
The hidden infrastructure of the 2012 campaign has already been built.
A handful of so-called Super PACs, enabled to collect unlimited donations by the continued erosion of campaign finance regulations, are expected to rival the official campaign organizations in importance this election. In many cases, these groups are acting essentially as outside arms of the campaigns.
These are America’s best-funded political factions, their war chests filled by some of the richest men (and almost all are men) in the country.
More than 80 percent of giving to Super PACs so far has come from just 58 donors, according to the Center for Responsive Politics analysis of the latest data, which covers the first half of 2011. The Republican groups have raised $17.6 million and the Democratic groups $7.6 million. Those numbers will balloon, with American Crossroads, the main Republican Super PAC, aiming to raise $240 million.)
The exceptions are two public employee labor unions, whose massive donations match those of some of the largest moguls. The rest are individuals with vast fortunes at their disposal. They constitute two different tribes.
The conservative red tribe is dominated by businessmen who have built or inherited fortunes. They also include Wall Street investors, oil and gas men, construction magnates, and retail executives. Mormons are well represented.
The liberal blue tribe is dominated by men from Hollywood and media entrepreneurs — often Jewish — and the leaders of the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
The Super PACs are not paragons of transparency, but what has been disclosed gives a sense of where the money is coming from and the interests of those giving it. Based on the donors and the origins of these groups, we can already discern what messages the Super PACs will generate in the home stretch of the campaign.
What follows is a pocket guide to the big money tribes of American politics, what they will tell you — and what they won’t.
AMERICAN CROSSROADS
Staffed by former officials from the Republican National Committee and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and associated with Karl Rove. Many consider it more important than the RNC itself. Certainly American Crossroads and Fox News control the GOP’s message in a way the Republican National Committee does not and cannot. It is not unfair to say that during a presidential election year, the Republican Party is more an adjunct to American Crossroads, than vice versa.
The funders:
  • Jerry Perenchio, the former CEO of Univision, has already given a whopping $2 million to the group. Perenchio has been attacked by some right-wing commentators for his moderate stances on immigration issues. Befitting his more moderate politics, Perenchio in August signed on to the Jon Huntsman campaign as a member of the “California finance team” to help with fundraising. That move came four months after his contribution to Crossroads. Given Huntsman’s failure to pick up any steam, it’s not clear at this point what role Perenchio will play in the 2012 race.
  • Bob Perry: A Texan who made a fortune in the construction business, he has given $500,000 to Crossroads. A longtime friend of Rove, he’s been a huge donor to GOP causes for years. In 2010, he gave a staggering $7 million to Crossroads in a six-week period before Election Day. As for what issues he cares about, a spokesman oncedescribed his philosophy this way: “People call him and pitch him, and if he likes what he hears, he’ll write a check.” That includes unsavory efforts like the 2004 Swift Boat Veterans for Truth attack campaign against John Kerry, which Perry bankrolled.
  • Robert Rowling: Another familiar name in the world of GOP fundraising, the Dallas billionaire has given $1 million to Crossroads — on top of the $2 million he gave the group during the 2010 campaign. He inherited a family oil fortune and has since become a successful investor in the hotel business, among others. The fact that Rowling’s company, TRT Holdings, owns Gold’s Gym generated a backlash in October 2010 when gay activists pointed out that Rowling’s contributions were funding “some of the most vehemently anti-gay politicians in the country.” Several San Francisco Gold’s franchises subsequently left the company. Interviewed on Fox at the time, Rowling suggested his support of Crossroads was all about “fiscal sanity” not “social issues.”

What you’ll hear: “Corrupt liberal elites squandered your hard-earned dollars on the socialist in the White House who appeases Muslims.”
Look for Crossroads to focus relentlessly on economic issues. Recent Webads by the group hitting Obama for the stimulus package, for proposing new taxes on the wealthy, and imposing too many regulations on business offer a taste of what’s to come.
Crossroads’ favored form is the attack ad. The group has already boughtbillboards and radio airtime targeting Sen. Claire McCaskill, who is seen as a vulnerable Dem in 2012, for a scandal involving unpaid taxes on her private plane.
What you won’t hear: “Let’s ban abortion.” “George W. Bush was a good president.”  “Time to reinstate ‘don’t ask, don’t tell.’”
RESTORE OUR FUTURE
Founded by former aides to Mitt Romney, this group is expected to maintain the minimum legal distance between itself and Romney’s official campaign. Romney himself even spoke at a Manhattan fundraiser for the group, though — apparently for legal reasons — he left the room before an explicit appeal for money was made, the Times reported.
The funders:
  • Ed Conrad: A former executive at Bain Capital, Romney’s old firm, he originally gave $1 million to Restore Our Future through a shell company, W Spann LLC, before coming forward amid media scrutiny of the transaction. Conrad is reported to be a longtime Romney friend and contributor who has otherwise not been particularly active as a GOP fundraiser or donor.
  • Steve Lund and Jeremy Blickenstaff: The co-founder of the Provo, Utah-based skin care firm Nu Skin — which claims to have “unlocked the science behind the secret to looking and feeling young” — gave Restore Our Future $1 million. Lund has bankrolled Romney’s political career from the very beginning: his race against Ted Kennedy in 1994. He and his wife have giventens of thousands of dollars to Romney over the years. He is also a leader in the Mormon church and reportedly owns a valuable early copy of the Book of Mormon.
  • Also pitching in $1 million to Restore Our Future is Jeremy Blickenstaff, Lund’s son-in-law and an attorney who has worked at Nu Skin. He does not have a history of political giving, but Blickenstaff did do a stint at the Marriage Law Foundation, a Utah-based group that “provides legal resources to defend and protect marriage between a husband and wife.”
  • John Paulson: A hedge fund billionaire who placed a successful beton the crash of the housing market, he gave Restore Our Future $1 million. He’s given generously to members of both parties for years, and his firm also spent hundreds of thousands of dollars lobbying on Capitol Hill on financial regulatory matters. He was also a major figure in the SEC’s fraud case against Goldman Sachs last year, which the company settled by paying a $550 million fine.
  • Paul and Sandra Edgerly: Paul Edgerly, a top executive at Bain Capital, with his wife gave $1 million to Restore Our Future. He and his wife have made well over $200,000 in political donations in the past 20 years, primarily to Romney and the national and Massachusetts Republican parties. Both Harvard Business School graduates, the Edgerlys were featured in the school’s alumni magazine for building a “family clubhouse” in their backyard that features a full gymnasium, a tennis court, a batting cage, a sauna and other amenities.
  • Bob Perry: The Texas construction magnate hedged his bets with Rick Perry by giving the Romney PAC  $500,000.

What you’ll hear: “We need a man who has run a business running the White House.”
The group is legally barred from coordinating expenditures — such as buying ads — with the Romney campaign, but look for it to echo Romney’s message closely. Its bare-bones website, for example, declares that “It is time that we restore our future by supporting candidates who have worked in the private sector and created jobs, who understand the economy, and who believe in America, American workers, and American values.” That candidate is Mitt Romney, the group made clear in its formation announcement in June:
Our nation is burdened by a struggling economy; our job creators who are tied up with red tape, and a growing federal government is stifling the private sector. President Obama has failed to fix the problems that affect Americans. … Restore Our Future will support our next president, Mitt Romney.
Restore Our Future appears to have kept its powder dry — so far. As of its most recent Federal Election Commission filings, which cover the first half of 2011, the group has not bought any ad time or spent money on other substantive political action.
What you won’t hear: “Mitt’s healthcare plan is superior to Barack’s.”
PRIORITIES USA ACTION
A Democratic response to Rove’s American Crossroads, this group was founded in April by former White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton and former Rahm Emanuel aide Sean Sweeney. It will essentially function as an outside arm of the Obama reelection campaign.
The funders:
  • Jeffrey Katzenberg: The Dreamworks Animation CEO and former Walt Disney Studios chief gave Priorities USA Action $2 million, making him the single biggest Super PAC donor on the Democratic side and the source of over half of Priorities USA’s budget to date. He has alsoreportedly agreed to help raise money from others for the group, in keeping with his past as a major Democratic donor and bundler, having personally given at least $1.5 million over the past two decades. “The stakes are too high for us to simply allow the extremism of a small but well-funded right wing minority to go unchallenged,” he told USA Today.
  • Service Employees International Union: The 2 million-member union known for its loyalty to the Democratic Party and President Obama — it spent $60 million to elect him in 2008 — gave $500,000 to Priorities USA Action. “We think we have to back this president in order to get America back to work,” SEIU president Mary Kay Henry explained on C-SPAN in June. And she told the Times this week, “We’re solely focused right now on trying to get the national debate focused on jobs and everybody paying their fair share. It’s important for us to keep our eyes on who’s standing in the way of working people. It’s not President Obama. It’s the corporations and the wealthy and the politicians they back who aren’t willing to pay their fair share and are applauding efforts to dismantle government.”
  • Fred Eychaner: He amassed a fortune of hundreds of millions of dollars through his Chicago media company, Newsweb Corp, that started out printing newspapers and eventually bought up radio and TV stations. So far he has given $500,000 to Priorities USA Action. Often described as reclusive and press-shy, Eychaner’s Chicago mansion has been the site of big Democratic fundraisers for years, and last year he was rewarded by President Obama with an appointment to the board of trustees at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington. His political roots are in the gay rights movement of the late 1970s, according to a Chicago Tribune profile. Eychaner is gay and has called his philanthropy on HIV/AIDS the “most important issue in my life.”

What you’ll hear: “The GOP will cut your Medicare to fund tax cuts for the rich.”
It has already run a few ads, including a spot blaming Republicans for opposing economic reforms, giving tax breaks to the wealthy, and favoring a plan to “essentially end Medicare.” Previewing the themes of Obama’s reelection campaign if Mitt Romney is the nominee, the group bought ads in South Carolina — timed for a visit by Romney — attacking Romney’s support of Rep. Paul Ryan’s plan to end Medicare.
What you won’t hear: “Maintain status quo for Wall Street.” “Forever war in Afghanistan.” “Yes, we can … lead from behind.”
MAJORITY PAC
Founded this year by former aides to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Majority PAC is devoted to helping Democrats win in contested Senate races. “The best Senate strategists in the country are coming together for 2012 to make sure Senate races have every tool needed to win,” Susan McCue, one of the leaders of the effort and a former Reid chief of staff, toldPolitico. “We are approaching this as a team led by those who know how to win in the toughest, most competitive races across the country.” Reid himself along with Sen. John Kerry have sent out fundraising solicitations for the group, with Reid’s pitch explicitly framing Majority PAC as a means to counter “the deep pockets and nasty tactics of Karl Rove, the Koch Brothers and their network of corporate-backed special interest groups.”
The funders:
  • Steve Bing: Another loyal Democratic donor from Hollywood, Bing inherited a family real estate fortune and has been a successful film producer through his company, Shangri-La Entertainment. He gave $250,000 to Majority PAC. Besides the millions of dollars he has given to the Democratic Party over the year, he has also put big money behind a 1998 California ballot initiative to tax tobacco products to pay for new government programs. In 2006, he spent a record $49 million to push Proposition 87, another California initiative that would have used new taxes on oil companies to develop alternative fuels. It was defeated.
  • SEIU: The union (see description above) has given $250,000 to Majority PAC so far.

What you’ll hear: “Tea Party bullies want to cut your Medicare and Obamacare to pay for tax cuts for Wall Street.”
Noting that 23 Senate Democrats are up for reelection in 2012 — compared to just 10 Republicans — Majority PAC says it will run “a transparent, low-overhead, take-no-prisoners Independent Expenditure campaign, [to] aggressively contest critical open seats, exploit opportunities to take over Republican seats and expand our firewall, and respond to attacks from Rove and his allies on Democratic Senate candidates.” So far the group’s website features state-specific ads from an affiliate group seizing on the GOP plan to end Medicare.
What you won’t hear: “America yearns for Harry Reid’s Las Vegas gravitas.”
HOUSE MAJORITY PAC
Yet another liberal Super PAC with deep ties to Democratic officialdom, it was founded this past spring by Ali Lapp, the former campaign director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, along with a couple of other former DCCC officials. The goal: win a Democratic majority in the House.
The funders:
  • AFSCME: The 1.6 million-member American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees has given House Majority PAC $200,000. It recently launched its own ad campaign arguing that passing Obama’s “American Jobs Act” would also have the effect of increasing government revenues and decreasing the deficit. Expect to see the name of the public-employees union keep popping up in campaign finance reports: In 2010, it spent nearly $90 million helping Democratic candidates.
  • Donald Sussman: The head of multibillion-dollar Connecticut hedge fund Paloma Partners and the husband of Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-Maine, Sussman has given $150,000 to House Majority PAC. His giving to Democrats predates his marriage to Pingree this year: Sussman has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democratic groups and candidates in the last 20 years. He was thrust into Maine politics in 2010 when Pingree was criticized for taking trips on his private jet. He is on the board of the Israel Policy Forum, an American liberal Zionist group, and the liberal think tank the Center for American Progress.
  • SEIU: The union (see above) has given $185,000 to the House Majority PAC.
  • Fred Eychaner: The Chicago media mogul (see above) has given $100,000 to the House Majority PAC.

What you’ll hear: “Eric Cantor and Tea Party bullies want to wreck government and Medicare to pay for tax cuts for the rich.”
Like the other Dem Super PACs, the House Majority PAC has seized on Paul Ryan’s plan to end Medicare. Its website says, “We’re fighting against the recently-passed Republican budget, which provides trillions in new tax cuts for corporations and the wealthiest Americans, but ends Medicare as we know it by turning it into a voucher program and forcing seniors to find and purchase private health insurance.” The House Majority PAC already ran an ad in New York’s special election attacking Republican Bob Turner on Medicare, and another ad against Wisconsin Republican Sean Duffy for his vote in favor of tax cuts for the wealthy. The Duffy spot also echoed President Obama’s recent focus on private jet owners.
What you won’t hear: “Greenlight Israel’s annexation of the West Bank.” ” America yearns for Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco style.”

Of course, the red and the blue tribes are hardly the only players in the political campaign. They have the deep pockets to dominate the airwaves with their advertising. But with the spread of the Internet, the influence of broadcast television is weakening.
There’s an invisible tribe too. There are a slew of political nonprofits that will also be running campaign ads in 2012 who, because of their classification in the tax code, do not have to release donor information. So it’s worth remembering there will be a lot of anonymous money in the game.
We’ll look at them in a future article .

Have you ever been to Gaza? Saying its like a concentration camp doesn't mean he is anti-Israel does it?

Okay TBone -- explain to me how Israel created Hamas? How can you defend such a statement?? That's like saying that a cow created a chicken.... were they not both there, independent of each other? Please read the first sentence again: "Ron Paul has also BEEN QUOTED as saying that Israel created Hamas".

Aja Brooks Another thing: Ron Paul after saying that about Israel, is not in a position to used the analogy GAZA is like a concentration camp.

Aja Brooks This is the type of lunacy that I am talking about from him and the people who follow him: this is why I can't get behind Ron Paul theology because it doesn't make sound Presidential policy.

Aja Brooks TBone Taylor to Aja Brooks I have read the Bible thank you very kindly and like most people what i got from the message is different then what you got. Your belief in what is being taught is not right and neither is mine. God wants each and everyone of us to get to know him for ourselves. I do know this. Are we to cast judgement?
27 minutes ago · Like
Aja Brooks Okay TBone -- 2 things: 1) I have my own relationship with God, just as you have your own relationship to God, and that is your choice and perception 2) You mistake the meaning of the word judgement, as it means condemnation.... which is blasphemy: I can not sit in God's place to determine whether or not on that Day you deserve the tree of Life or hell fire. However, the Bible says, by their fruits you will know them.... meaning, the behavior of someone is indicative of what they harvest in their physical and spiritual life. Therefore, I am not judging your mortal soul as worthy of salvation, for I am not God, and He makes that determination by sealing you as His own. However, I can judge your behavior to be it that which brings blessing or a curse, and it is only my job to warn you to correct your behavior, to spare you from dying in your sin and to hold you back from the gates of hell by refusing to let you walk away from God unknowingly. That's it: I can't force you to choose God, I can't choose your behavior for you; I can only influence your mind and influence your behavior in my presence. I can only warn you, twice, then I must walk the other way. 1 Corinthians 5:12-13
Good News Translation (GNT)
12-13After all, it is none of my business to judge outsiders. God will judge them. But should you not judge the members of your own fellowship? As the scripture says,

Remove the evil person from your group. You need to read all of Matthew 7, it is the most misquoted and misinterpreted, because it is taken out of context. I am not to judge you as sinner or saint, just to judge whether or not your behavior is sinful or righteous. I will participate though, as a witness of Christ, during the judgement regarding your behavior. Unless I want to be judged by my own deeds, and not by His grace, I must be careful and wary of hypocrisy. 1 "Do not judge others, so that God will not judge you, 2 for God will judge you in the same way you judge others, and he will apply to you the same rules you apply to others. 3 Why, then, do you look at the speck in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the log in your own eye? 4 How dare you say to your brother, "Please, let me take that speck out of your eye,' when you have a log in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will be able to see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. 6 "Do not give what is holy to dogs - they will only turn and attack you. Do not throw your pearls in front of pigs - they will only trample them underfoot. 7 "Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks will receive, and anyone who seeks will find, and the door will be opened to those who knock. 9 Would any of you who are fathers give your son a stone when he asks for bread? 10 Or would you give him a snake when he asks for a fish? 11 As bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him! 12 "Do for others what you want them to do for you: this is the meaning of the Law of Moses and of the teachings of the prophets. 13 "Go in through the narrow gate, because the gate to hell is wide and the road that leads to it is easy, and there are many who travel it. 14 But the gate to life is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard, and there are few people who find it. 15 "Be on your guard against false prophets; they come to you looking like sheep on the outside, but on the inside they are really like wild wolves. 16 You will know them by what they do. Thorn bushes do not bear grapes, and briers do not bear figs. 17 A healthy tree bears good fruit, but a poor tree bears bad fruit. 18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a poor tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 And any tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown in the fire. 20 So then, you will know the false prophets by what they do. 21 "Not everyone who calls me "Lord, Lord' will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only those who do what my Father in heaven wants them to do. 22 When the Judgment Day comes, many will say to me, "Lord, Lord! In your name we spoke God's message, by your name we drove out many demons and performed many miracles!' 23 Then I will say to them, "I never knew you. Get away from me, you wicked people!' 24 "So then, anyone who hears these words of mine and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. 25 The rain poured down, the rivers flooded over, and the wind blew hard against that house. But it did not fall, because it was built on rock. 26 "But anyone who hears these words of mine and does not obey them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain poured down, the rivers flooded over, the wind blew hard against that house, and it fell. And what a terrible fall that was!" 28 When Jesus finished saying these things, the crowd was amazed at the way he taught. 29 He wasn't like the teachers of the Law; instead, he taught with authority.

Rick Perry is the ONLY Fiscal Conservative and Rick Santorum is the ONLY Social Conservative:
THE TEA PARTY PUBLICLY READS THE IMPEACHMENT ORDER FOR OBAMA EFFECTIVE 1-1-12: http://www.youtube.com/user/The2011Phoenix I only had 2 comments in my inbox in retraction against the Impeachment video, and guess what? They were very much the same and both of those profiles have been deleted over the past month. Obama likes to get on the internet and defend himself under fake profiles. There were countless fake profiles created on Facebook in order to lobby support for him in 2008, that just didn't exist, to create an image that Obama was the answer to Bush Jr.'s abuse of the Patriot Act and enumeration of powers, especially concerning War. Obama positioned himself as intelligent and the person who would end war and legalize marijuana. He lied for votes. It was easy to paint himself as that, because no one perceived Bush Jr. to be smart, that he would end war, or that he cared about our personal freedoms and overreach of the law.                                  Not only has Obama not kept his promises, he was never legally able to operate in the Office. Obama sealed his court records, hid behind lawyers and other politicians, and it took 3yrs. to get a subpoena for Hawaii records that never really existed. After confronting Obama on the matter, that it was Kenya who verified his birth record with the Coast Province, and that Africa was speaking out about Obama's pro-abortion policy, the Tea Party gave the invective that Obama was participating in idol worship, and that H.R. 4872 was indeed a contract with Mami Wama:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mami_Wata
A fertility goddess guaranteed to give wealth when making a vow or contract. African beliefs hold that their gods rule a section of heaven above Africa, and Mami Wata worship also includes the worship of other gods that are of the Mami Wata order, including those like Ibo. http://www.beautiful-mermaid-art.com/african-mythology-2.html Mami Wata is appeased by blood sacrifice. H.R. 4872 is mass funded abortion, as Obama thought that would fix our population and financial problems, to appease the gods of his ancestors.

(THIS IS A BIG NO-NO FOR SOMEONE WHO PROFESSES TO BE THE MUSLIM MAHDI, WITH THAT SYMBOL OF IS..... MUSLIMS HATE ABORTION, 9-11 TOOK PLACE BECAUSE OF THAT, IT WAS NOT AN INSIDE JOB. RADICAL MUSLIMS STAGED THE ATTACK BECAUSE OF OUR PRO-ABORTION POLICIES, AND THAT IS WHY RADICAL ISLAM IS AT WAR WITH THE UNITED STATES. THE PROPHECY IS IN THE GNT TRANSLATION: WHICH IS TOTALLY NEGLECTED AND IGNORED BY PROTESTANT CHRISTIANS, IT IS NOT IN THE KING JAMES VERSION, IT IS IN THE HOLY BIBLE, OR CATHOLIC BIBLE. IT ALSO LEAVES OUT THE END TIME PROPHECY, SIGNS OF THE END, WHERE IT IS DISCUSSED IN DETAIL.

THE EAGLE IS REFERENCED 2 ESDRAS 11-12:1-9:

The Three-Headed Eagle of II Esdras 11 & 12, an Identity Interpretation

By Pastor Eli James
Introductory Notes
I will first quote the relevant passages from II Esdras 11, which gives the entire vision.  Then, Chapter 12 gives an “interpretation,” although we must still correlate the interpretation with historical events.   What is discussed hereinafter comes from two main sources: Dr. Eugene Scott and James Scott Trimm.   I will refer primarily to a transcription of a lecture given by Dr. Scott, plus minimal discussion of Mr. Trimm’s viewpoint, which is similar, with the exception of the identification of the Three Heads.
For the reader’s reference, these are the online sources of their work on this subject:
II Esdras 11 & 12
Esdras 11:1
Then saw I a dream, and, behold, there came up from the sea an eagle, which had twelve feathered wings, and three heads.
2 Esdras 11:2
And I saw, and, behold, she spread her wings over all the earth, and all the winds of the air blew on her, and were gathered together.
2 Esdras 11:3
And I beheld, and out of her feathers there grew other contrary feathers; and they became little feathers and small.
2 Esdras 11:4
But her heads were at rest: the head in the midst was greater than the other, yet rested it with the residue.
2 Esdras 11:5
Moreover I beheld, and, lo, the eagle flew with her feathers, and reigned upon earth, and over them that dwelt therein.
2 Esdras 11:6
And I saw that all things under heaven were subject unto her, and no man spake against her, no, not one creature upon earth.
2 Esdras 11:7
And I beheld, and, lo, the eagle rose upon her talons, and spake to her feathers, saying,
2 Esdras 11:8
Watch not all at once: sleep every one in his own place, and watch by course:
2 Esdras 11:9
But let the heads be preserved for the last.
2 Esdras 11:10
And I beheld, and, lo, the voice went not out of her heads, but from the midst of her body.
2 Esdras 11:11
And I numbered her contrary feathers, and, behold, there were eight of them.
2 Esdras 11:12
And I looked, and, behold, on the right side there arose one feather, and reigned over all the earth; [This is the first feather, counting from right to left. – Eli]
2 Esdras 11:13
And so it was, that when it reigned, the end of it came, and the place thereof appeared no more: so the next following stood up and reigned, and had a great time;
2 Esdras 11:14
And it happened, that when it reigned, the end of it came also, like as the first, so that it appeared no more.
2 Esdras 11:15
Then came there a voice unto it, and said,
2 Esdras 11:16
Hear thou that hast borne rule over the earth so long: this I say unto thee, before thou beginnest to appear no more,
2 Esdras 11:17
There shall none after thee attain unto thy time, neither unto the half thereof.
[This second “feather” shall reign longer than any of the other “feathers,” by twice the length of the next competitor. – Eli]
2 Esdras 11:18
Then arose the third, and reigned as the other before, and appeared no more also.
2 Esdras 11:19
So went it with all the residue one after another, as that every one reigned, and then appeared no more.
2 Esdras 11:20
Then I beheld, and, lo, in process of time the feathers that followed stood up upon the right side, that they might rule also; and some of them ruled, but within a while they appeared no more:
2 Esdras 11:21
For some of them were set up, but ruled not.
2 Esdras 11:22
After this I looked, and, behold, the twelve feathers appeared no more, nor the two little feathers:
2 Esdras 11:23
And there was no more upon the eagle's body, but three heads that rested, and six little wings.
2 Esdras 11:24
Then saw I also that two little feathers divided themselves from the six, and remained under the head that was upon the right side:  for the four continued in their place.
2 Esdras 11:25
And I beheld, and, lo, the feathers that were under the wing thought to set up themselves and to have the rule.
2 Esdras 11:26
And I beheld, and, lo, there was one set up, but shortly it appeared no more.
2 Esdras 11:27
And the second was sooner away than the first.
2 Esdras 11:28
And I beheld, and, lo, the two that remained thought also in themselves to reign:
2 Esdras 11:29
And when they so thought, behold, there awaked one of the heads that were at rest, namely, it that was in the midst; for that was greater than the two other heads.
2 Esdras 11:30
And then I saw that the two other heads were joined with it.
2 Esdras 11:31
And, behold, the head was turned with them that were with it, and did eat up the two feathers under the wing that would have reigned.
2 Esdras 11:32
But this head put the whole earth in fear, and bare rule in it over all those that dwelt upon the earth with much oppression; and it had the governance of the world more than all the wings that had been.
2 Esdras 11:33
And after this I beheld, and, lo, the head that was in the midst suddenly appeared no more, like as the wings.
2 Esdras 11:34
But there remained the two heads, which also in like sort ruled upon the earth, and over those that dwelt therein.
2 Esdras 11:35
And I beheld, and, lo, the head upon the right side devoured it that was upon the left side.
2 Esdras 11:36
Then I head a voice, which said unto me, Look before thee, and consider the thing that thou seest.
2 Esdras 11:37
And I beheld, and lo, as it were a roaring lion chased out of the wood: and I saw that he sent out a man's voice unto the eagle, and said,
2 Esdras 11:38
Hear thou, I will talk with thee, and the Highest shall say unto thee,
2 Esdras 11:39
Art not thou it that remainest of the four beasts, whom I made to reign in my world, that the end of their times might come through them?
2 Esdras 11:40
And the fourth came, and overcame all the beasts that were past, and had power over the world with great fearfulness, and over the whole compass of the earth with much wicked oppression; and so long time dwelt he upon the earth with deceit.
2 Esdras 11:41
For the earth hast thou not judged with truth.
2 Esdras 11:42
For thou hast afflicted the meek, thou hast hurt the peaceable, thou hast loved liars, and destroyed the dwellings of them that brought forth fruit, and hast cast down the walls of such as did thee no harm.
2 Esdras 11:43
Therefore is thy wrongful dealing come up unto the Highest, and thy pride unto the Mighty.
2 Esdras 11:44
The Highest also hath looked upon the proud times, and, behold, they are ended, and his abominations are fulfilled.
2 Esdras 11:45
And therefore appear no more, thou eagle, nor thy horrible wings, nor thy wicked feathers nor thy malicious heads, nor thy hurtful claws, nor all thy vain body:
2 Esdras 11:46
That all the earth may be refreshed, and may return, being delivered from thy violence, and that she may hope for the judgment and mercy of him that made

II Esdras 12, The “Interpretation”
2 Esdras 12:1
And it came to pass, while the lion {The lion represents the Messiah at the Judgment Day.} spake these words unto the eagle, I saw,
2 Esdras 12:2
And, behold, the head that remained and the four wings appeared no more, and the two went unto it and set themselves up to reign, and their kingdom was small, and fill of uproar.
{Keep this verse in mind, because it is overlooked by both Dr. Scott and James Trimm.}
2 Esdras 12:3
And I saw, and, behold, they appeared no more, and the whole body of the eagle was burnt so that the earth was in great fear: then awaked I out of the trouble and trance of my mind, and from great fear, and said unto my spirit,
2 Esdras 12:4
Lo, this hast thou done unto me, in that thou searchest out the ways of the Highest.
2 Esdras 12:5
Lo, yet am I weary in my mind, and very weak in my spirit; and little strength is there in me, for the great fear wherewith I was afflicted this night.
2 Esdras 12:6
Therefore will I now beseech the Highest, that he will comfort me unto the end.
2 Esdras 12:7
And I said, Lord that bearest rule, if I have found grace before thy sight, and if I am justified with thee before many others, and if my prayer indeed be come up before thy face;
2 Esdras 12:8
Comfort me then, and shew me thy servant the interpretation and the plain difference of this fearful vision, that thou mayest perfectly comfort my soul.
2 Esdras 12:9
For thou hast judged me worthy to shew me the last times.
{This tells us that the fulfillment of this vision will take us very close to the Judgment Day.}

THE PROTESTANT RELIGIONS: PRESBYTERIAN, METHODIST, BAPTIST, INTERDENOMINATIONAL, SPIRIT-FILLED, SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST.... ALL USE BIBLES AND TEXT WHERE THE APOCRYPHAL BOOKS WERE TAKEN OUT, CITING THAT THEY DID NOT OCCUR IN THE JEWISH CANON, THAT THEY WERE NOT CONSIDERED DEUTERONCANONICAL, AND THIS PROPHECY WAS SHIELDED FROM PROTESTANTS AND CATHOLICS ALIKE, EXCEPT FOR THOSE WHO READ THE APOCRYPHA, WHO COULD READ AND UNDERSTAND IT.

CATHOLIC PROPHECY HAS BEEN FULFILLED. AS MUCH AS PEOPLE HATE THE CATHOLIC CHURCH FOR THE SEXUAL ABUSE OF PRIESTS, THAT IS A SIGN OF THE END TIMES, THAT THE CHURCH WOULD BECOME CORRUPTED; IT IS IN THE BOOK OF REVELATION.
Obama portrayed himself as a Christian for votes, but his cousin, Raila Odigna did the same thing. When Raila did not win his election, he had everyone beaten in the area and had their heads squashed like watermelons.
The primary reason we have no amendment to the Constitution to permit someone who is not a citizen; i.e., Obama, for being President is to avoid our country being exploited or dedicated to idol worship. Subsequent to the Impeachment Order being publicly read and effective 1/1/12, a court date was finally granted to hear ineligibility in GA Court about Obama's name appearing on the ballot, set for 1/26. Holder's hearing is to take place 1/24, as he refuses to deport Obama, and Obama has been complicit in providing guns to cartels, with the cartels' money going into support lawless corruption of the DNC. Obama has taken in the most money from CAIR though, who has ties to unethical fundraising and funding acts of terror around the world under the guise of Islam, and there is corruption in their cleric.
Obama faces reprimand over the recess appointments and pending court outcomes, including removal from Office and pending federal charges. His top fundraiser received 10yrs. in prison, Rezko, and Blago received 14yrs., Obama is facing a similar fate over misappropriation, corruption, and lying under Oath. Obama is now a costly liability, because of his aspirations of being the Mahdi, when he is simply a liar! Obama has disrespected Islam for his political gain, exploiting his ties to Muslim Moderates, and straining the difficult relationship to Iran with his chicanery.
The Tea Party rests that he has been impeached. It is up to Congress to remove him from Office, but for all intent and purposes, he has been stripped of power.
THE PETITION FOR IMPEACHMENT FILED WITH THE HOUSE ON 5-27-2011, YIELDED THE FOLLOWING CONCLUSIONS ON CORRUPTION IN OFFICE:https://docs.google.com/document/d/14IrYm7LLaw7TG5gM5FG4WtxAtVpg8yXW0FQszVrbCUM/edit?hl=en_US

Ben M Johnson There's only one Constitutional Conservative.

Paul Lovett And that Constitutional Conservative is Ron Paul.
15 hours ago ·  5
The term "conservative" is relative to what point of history one is trying to "conserve." Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate attempting to conserve the views of our founders (the Constitution). Socially conserving unconstitutional points in history such as 70 year drug laws, or fiscally conserving 100 year old corrupt monetary and banking systems is not true conservatism.. but neo-conservatism. Also.. there is nothing socially or fiscally conservative about unconstitutional war spending.
Ron Paul is not a Constitutional Conservative... anyone who calls themselves that but whose followers insist on telling other people what to think and who to vote for, if it is not someone other than Paul is a loon. Define how you would defend our country.... like Paul? "Oh I'll just stick my head in the sand, and they better leave me be, because I'm not bothering them with my ass stuck in the air." Next thing you know, you fart, the East wind blows and you get cremated by a nuclear missile. Oh yeah... Ron Paul is great on money philosophy, but it is not a workable Presidential policy. Ta-ta --- just 4 people I need to say goodbye to on here.

I don't mind you posting anything about Ron Paul, by making your own posts, but we are discussing Rick Perry's job creation plan and his book "FED UP!" what our problems are RIGHT NOW, and how we can go about fixing them. We are also talking about Conservative leadership that our country is lacking because of Obama, and why this would fix our problems. Just by shouting Ron Paul over and over again, does not mean this will solve it: Ron Paul is a Libertarian Constitutionalist, so his philosophies do not match anyone in the GOP or the Tea Party, because Libertarian is its own party. Ron Paul is not a Conservative Constitutionalist, because he wants unlimited freedoms without paying the cost to protect them, as he calls 'endless wars'.

Aja...I don't know why anyone would consider you a repository of knowlege or even remotely representative of TEA Party values.

Your limited understanding of the essence of freedom is only exceeded by your mistatements of material fact regarding foreign policy and what our allies, the CIA, the Mussaud and others know to be in our best interest toward securing our nations future.

I do however find agreement with you that Libertarian Constitutional philosophies do not currently match up with that of the mainstream GOP...but certainly not for the reasons you may conclude!

(social conservative theocrats are the antithesis of freedom and liberty and represent the very worst form of tyrrany)
Some contrast and some history for you Aja;

"I fight very strongly against libertarian influence within the Republican Party and the conservative movement. I don't think the libertarians have it right when it comes to what the Constitution's all about. I don't think they have it right as to what our history is."
Rick Santorum

“I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer, just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberals . . . The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom, and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is.”

‎"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, ...his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." ~ C. Hey Phil acting like a dick doesn't make you a smart person... has anyone ever told you that? I am college educated, and just by you being insulting on Facebook to me, doesn't change that fact. Especially when the only reason you said it most likely is that you can't agree to disagree about your Precious Ron Paul, and yes, you sound like something off "Lord of the Rings" when I say Ron Paul: you say "the precious....."

Aja Brooks Again, Libertarian IS A PARTY, and Libertarian is distinct from the GOP, and only gets lumped in by claiming itself to be the holy grail keepers of the Constitution: http://teapartychief.blogspot.com/ The Greenback Party of old that split into the Tea Party and the Green Party. The Tea Party is non-violent, the Green Party believes in insurrection.

Oh and then like Phil Attridge when you don't agree, then you still can't hold your own opinion. Hey Phil, get off this post, it is not relevant. If you want to make your own post on Paul that is fine, but I am very aware of what goes on in the military, unlike you misstating what I have researched, because Obama thinks he is the Mahdi. Look that up. This post is closed to you and Jimmy, make your own posts or discuss what I post, if I want to refute what you say about Paul I will, but I will not refute Rick Perry or Rick Santorum with Ron Paul. That is a foolish disgrace, as much as how you are acting.

I would like a strong fisted ex-military, Pro gun, pro God, Pro America, pro work, pro family, etc. President in office and do appreciate McCains war service but would not consider it an asset due to his political record to have his endorsement. Santorum,Gingrich and Perry more fit the bill than Mitt Romney and I hope we will see 1 of the 3.

I have Faith in Romney. McCain failed to win POTUS because he announced Palin who many of us were not familiar with and Obama reached the young new voters who were not educated enough and Obama was just a fast talker and he could do it again but I believe Romney is the one who could beat him. Only other that could would be Santorium but what is really going to make the VOTE is who they choose for VP..That's who we need to focus on..and I hope Allen West is the one or Romney and Santorium together on ballett!

No: according to Gen. 1:29 all seed bearing plants are for food and medicine. It is fine to have .25oz a month for ceremonial purposes. The issue is that pot has more tar than cigarettes, so smoking it in large amounts causes problems. Cigarettes are narcotic leaves, they are doused with over 30 different chemicals, a process very much like taking coca and turning it into crack. Cigarettes are now no longer permitted in prison, and no public smoking, even withing 15-20ft. of a building in GA. They ticket people now, if they are reported. Alcohol is different, it is boiled hops, sold as a food item. It contains more estrogen than the natural hops. Liquor by percentage makes it a drug, so does excessive intake of alcohol. More than a beer or glass of wine a day is too much for women, because they make estrogen naturally. That is why it is sold in a 6pack, to abstain one day. A man does not make estrogen, he is supposed to get it from a woman, so alcohol is a false god that interferes with the relationship that is natural between a man and a woman. The Bible refers to this as the womanly duty to please her husband. In Georgia, we signed a Treatise, effective for 5 years, equivalent to personal use laws and consistent with legal authority to define decriminalization: http://www.facebook.com/groups/thesynthesis/doc/141108292621174/ We have also tackled judicial reform in GA, and we are looking forward to amending the laws in accordance to non-violent offenders.

Aja Brooks ‎@Chris Carroll being a 'religious nut' piles on the blessings, yes, for you on Texas: you will have to change the law through legislation, not bitching at me on Facebook or mocking my religious beliefs. I have Native American background, and drinking is just as harmful as excessive smoking, in its own ways.... though marijuana is not as bad as cigarettes, which have 30 different chemicals. It is not immoral, it is a misapplication of the law and a miscarriage of justice. Prescribed drugs have taken over deaths. Just because I'm smarter than you, or more educated, that makes me an asshole? Well I'd rather be a smart ass than a dumb ass. I did address the points you made 1) move to California 2) reform Texas law 3) let the Treatise I posted help you to change that in the state legislature. I never said you were going to hell for smoking point, so I am not being judgmental, and while I was not being an asshole, because I don't even know you, now I'm going to be: God will bless me, because you are the asshole, because that is how you're acting and that is your behavior. It makes me the better person to not be one, to be smarter, and to help you, even though you are too stupid to figure it out --- may the Lord bless you with an Epiphany today to figure it out.

Aja Brooks ‎@Daniel Morris Ron Paul is not the magic bullet to corruption: it is up to the people to hold them to account. I guess you have been too busy worshiping at the altar of Paul to realize the following: the Tea Party publicly read Obama's Impeachment Order 1/1/2. The court then granted Taitz a day in GA court, in order to present evidence of his ineligibility on 1/26. Holder faces expulsion on 1/24, after which time Obama has no legal shield preventing his deportation. If you would have been busy securing the subpoena, like we were, that took 3yrs. to get, you would know this. Instead, you think that Paul solves everything when the corruption has to be brought before Congress for an answer and the court. If you understood the separation of powers, you would know that. Good day.

Aja Brooks Correction: Ron Paul is no god at all, for there is only one God. He is not the most sound: he is the most maniacal, Constitutionally dim-witted on foreign policy and the role of federal government funding defense, he is not honest (he fibbed about the newsletters when he didn't have to), and he values Occutard Insurrection. He exceeds the nominees, in the level of bull splat. Ron Paul is not WD-40, and we need to reduce government in proportion to jobs lost, because it is unsustainable: 8.5% unemployment, means that is a 5 to 1 ratio cut back, the government is 42.5% larger than what we can sustain for the revenue coming in.... leaving the U.N. is not causing this problem: we have multiple layered departments, for example, Homeland Security, and other funding issues of $900 billion entitlements that ballooned up to 16 programs since 1996. We have cut aid to Pakistan and Afghanistan, because our annual revenue has only been coming in at $2.5 trillion over the past 3yrs., and you have not read the budget: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aq5m9QEGEZpOdDE0R0o1YmFJRDdyVkFIcVE0dkthUXc&hl=en_US#gid=0 We can't be Sovereign until entering into a debt payment plan in adherence to this base budget model with cuts. Ron Paul has not assisted the Tea Party with any of this, he is Libertarian.

Aja Brooks P.S. the post was about "Santorum, Gingrich and Perry more fit the bill than Mitt Romney" none of this had anything to do with Ron Paul fitting the nomination, especially given that legalization is a matter of legislation, not change in leadership. Obama lied about it for votes.

Another thing: Ron Paul doesn't give a shit about freedom; only getting elected. If he did, he would not insist all of his followers tell everyone what to think and who to vote for... then claim when they disagreed that he was THE ANSWER to everything, just like Obama did. Jesus is the Answer, ask Him your questions.

WOW THE CHURCH IS SUPPOSED TO FEED AND CLOTHE, YET THESE RELIGIOUS WHACK JOBS ARE PERSECUTING, OF ALL THINGS A SEA ANEMONE:

Transgendered Sea Anemone Denounced As 'Abomination' By Clergy

HUNTSVILLE, AL—A coalition of Baptist clergymen spoke out Monday against the Telia felina, a transgendered sea anemone they are decrying as "base and depraved."
Enlarge ImageThe dually gendered <I>Telia felina</I> sea anemone, which Baptist leaders are denouncing as "base and depraved."
"This filthy anemone, which exhibits both male and female characteristics, is turning our oceans' intertidal zones into dens of sin and perversion," said Rev. William Chester, spokesman for the Save Our Seas Coalition, a Huntsville-based activist group dedicated to "the preservation of aquatic decency and morality." "For God knows how long, this twisted sea creature has been running rampant in our oceans, spreading its unnatural, bisexual lifestyle. And it's high time somebody took a stand."
The controversial anemone, common to warm-water reefs and basins worldwide, has been practicing its alternative sexual lifestyle at least as far back as 1859, when Charles Darwin first catalogued its phylum and species. Since then, over 40 subspecies of Telia felina have been identified as dually gendered.
The Baptist group also strongly denounced the anemone's reproductive habits and family structure."Unlike so many respectable, God-fearing creatures, the Telia felina reproduces asexually, openly mocking traditional family values by giving birth to and raising its young in a single-parent setting," Chester said. "This anti-Christian anemone, which has the audacity to think that a child can grow up properly without the benefit of two loving parents, is truly the Murphy Brown of the deep."Rev. William Chester of the Save Our Seas Coalition.
Added Chester: "If you still doubt the pain and suffering wrought by this undersea abomination, just look into the eyes of a young anemone child forced to grow up wondering why Mommy and Daddy live in the same body. This, my friends, is not natural."
As part of its campaign against the invertebrate, Save Our Seas is calling upon Greenpeace and other environmental groups to cease their defense of endangered species and regions that fail to uphold high moral standards. The group is also threatening a boycott of aquariums that display the Telia felina or any other creature of questionable character.
"Is this the kind of marine invertebrate we want our children to see on their school field trips to the aquarium?" Chester asked. "By putting this sort of filth on display in our nation's aquariums—aquariums that are often federally funded with your tax dollars—we send our children the message that the transsexual lifestyle is not merely to be accepted, but encouraged."
"It is truly sad to see what could have been an upstanding Christian creature cross over to a life of depravity and abasement," Pastor Kenneth Boyle, director of the Loaves And Fishes Academy Of Christian Marine Biology, said of the Telia felina. "Just look at its flamboyant bright green and gold coloration. And its hundreds of effeminate tentacles, which sway back and forth temptingly in an effort to lure the spiritually weak. The Bible says that on the fifth day, God filled the oceans with living creatures, but surely this is not what He intended."

WHEN I WANT TO LAUGH ABOUT CHRISTIANS MOCKING GOD’S CREATION, OR JUST FOR A LAUGH IN GENERAL, I WILL RE-READ THOSE COMMENTS ABOVE.
